We're hitting DL on the 29th, and I wanted some feedback on our schedule (We'll be in Anaheim on the 25th, and are planning a dinner at Storytellers on that Sunday)

Wednesday - DL about 3pm, dinner at ESPN zone when the park closes
Thursday - Character Breakfast - Goofy's Kitchen, full day at DL, late lunch/early dinner at Avalon Cove at 3:30 with Mickey's sorcerer bucket added on for dd birthday. (avalon cove stops serving dinner at 4 when the park closes at 6.) How much time should I allow to get to Avalon Cove? We're staying at Paradise Pier and it's entirely possible that I will have dd napping prior to this, but if not, I'd like to see how long it will take us to get there from say the farthest point in DL to Avalon cove, and if it's faster to walk or take the monorail.

Friday, we have another day planned for DL, with PS reservations at Blue Bayou. Planning on watching the fireworks this night. Can we realistically watch the electrical parade at DCA, (at 8) and then make it to DL for the fireworks(at 930), or do we need to plan on seeing the electrical parade on Saturday?

Saturday we are guessing that it'd be best to do DCA this day, since Disney will be the most crowded of our stay. DL opens at 8am, so if we're not too tired, we'll go there first, and then head over to DCA. Once DCA closes, (or if we go to Rain Forest Cafe for dinner) we'll probably go back to DL.

Any other planning I should do, things I should do at certain times?

Thanks in advance!

1. ESPN was our least favorite meal, not much for a huge price. And really really LOUD! Dh complained that it was really annoying, for the music to be so loud it drowned out the sound of the TV's. We went there so he could get the scores for the New Years Day football games. He wasn't pleased with this experience at all.

For an alternitive to ESPN,we ordered off the menu at La Brea Bakery and it was one of those suprisingly outstanding meals!!

2. Avalon Cove has changed their name, It is now Ariel's Grotto.

When you arrive Double check ALL your PS!!!!!!!!! Arial's Grotto was super busy!!
WE nearly didn't get in for our 2:30pm Blue Bayou lunch, because they were never even informed that I had called for a PS it took 2 CM"S and a shift Leader to get it straightened out!! You need a PS Card.

3. The Monorail goes from Tomorrowland to about the middle of Downtown Disney,Now,still a longish walk to the DLH area for Goofy's Kitchen.

If you were in Toontown and it was getting close to your Ariel's Grotto/Avalon Cove PS,I would Hop the DL Railroad for a ride to the train station near the Entrance of DL!! Then It's about 40 ft across to DCA and about 1/2 through DCA to the restaurant.

4. You can see the Fireworks from the inside the entrance of DCA and the plaza area between the parks, too.

5. Give plenty of time to do DCA, it is worth it! Don't miss Aladdin!! It is increditable!! Aladdin and Jasmin fly over you on the flying carpet, even a Elephant carries Prince Aladdin. It has magical special effects!! A great birthday suprise for any little Princess!!

We got a preferred seating ticket with our package, and this is the show we will be using it on - but I don't need to make reservations do I?

We're pretty set on going to ESPN to use our gaming cards, maybe we will eat somewhere else and then go there, LOL

My 2 cents:
Thursday, you might be overdoing it with 2 character meals that day. I would try to seperate them if you can. Ariels Grotto was great. We had PS made a month ahead of time and got seated for dinner within 10 mins but we were outside and it was chilly. The wait for inside was much longer. Its fastest to walk from DL then take the monorail since there are no stops in DCA.
When we were there in Dec we watched the electrical parade and then ran over to catch the parade in DL. We made it because We sat near the begininng of the electrical parade and then sat by peoples feet not very cozy for the other parade. Its possible but it really depends on the crowd and luck. If you want good firework seats then seperate the two. What time is the BB ressies?

How do you mean *over doing it*? Too much food, or too much character interaction? Too much fun? LOL My dd bday was December 30, and I told her that we would celebrate her bday on January 30 while in Disneyland, that's why we did the Character Breakfast and the Ariel's Grotto on the same day - that's her bday *day*. Since we didn't have a party, I want to make her day really special. I could move the breakfast to Saturday, but thought it would be much busier then.

How long is the electrical parade? We can do the electrical parade on Saturday and the fireworks on friday or vice versa, so that's no big deal.
Our bb ressies are at 12:40 I think.

Definitely lots of fun but lots of food. If you are like my family you will overeat at the buffet at Goofys Kitchen and then Ariels Grotto is decent portions also but hey if it’s a special day you want that will be special. The BB seems like a good time. I think the first seating is noon so you will be getting there as some people leave. Make sure to ask for a seat by the water. :Pinkbounc

I'm hoping that with breakfast being at 845 and then us not eating again until 330 (probably close to 4 with ordering etc) we should be okay as long as we don't eat in between then. Then we definitely won't eat again, LOL. I just have to convince dd she doesn't need to eat everything she sees! LOL

I did choose the later seating at BB hoping that we had a better chance of getting a seat by the water.

What about the Aladdin show, do I need reservations for that?

You can get a PS card at your Disney Hotel. Or the Info booth in front of the park entrances.

No, Aladdin is a walk up - Expept for the Annual Pass Holder only Shows in the afternoon. Check your park map that day!!
