Scary T-Rex Cafe???

I've heard mixed reviews on how scary TRex Cafe at DTD is. Some say it is fine. Some say the loud noises are too much for little ones. Is it so loud that you can't talk to the kids across the table from you. My DD8, DD6, and DS 4 generally aren't scared too much by loud noises...maybe distracted, but not scared. Is this a good option for an event meal.

Hi! My DH and DS8 and I were there this past Jan. It was a WONDERFUL place. The decor was outstanding and my son LOVED the whole experience. If your kids have been to Rain Forest Cafe it is similiar in the noise level etc. It is a little hard to talk but the Dino ride and AK is lots louder than the T-Rex. In fact, my son liked the thunderstorm but it wasn't overbearing. I don't remember the Dinos roaring I guess--they probably did but were not scary/memorable. They also have a Build-A-Dino inside (like Build-A-Bear) that is neat. Our waiter was an absolute HOOT. He made the whole thing really great for my son. He took my son on a guided tour of the place and took his picture all over with the dinos! The food was good, service and seating were GREAT. We did not have reservations and took one look at the line and almost left. We were so glad we waited. We were seated within 15 minutes. I think your kids will love it, they sound like they are the perfect ages! My son can't wait to go back in December and do this again!!! Hope this helps!

I think your family will really enjoy it. It IS noisy, especially during the meteor storm every 20 minutes. The dinos do go nuts during that. But it only lasts a minute or 2 and is really exciting. I saw lots of little ones there when we went, and some of them looked "concerned", but none of them were crying or anything like that. Just play it up and they will probably LOVE it. We sure did!! Other than during that, you can certainly carry on a conversation at your table. It's really fun, I vote for try it!!

We really liked it in February! If you're concerned about the noise ask for a table in the very back room, past the ice room. It didn't seem as loud back there. The front of the restaurant is ridiculous though!
My DDs were 22 months and 5 years and both were not scared!
