As many times as I have been to WDW I have never rode RnR. I love EE, ToT and BTMRR but the thought of going upside down scares me to death. Any advice on how I can get on RnR without being so scared?

One thing that helped my nephew was he watched some of the videos on you tube of the ride.He liked the fact that you could not see the track because it was dark and it was over very quick.Afterwards he walked off and asked I thought it did a loop?I think the best thing you could do is take a breath before getting on and close your eyes if need be and let it happen the whole ride is less then 2 min.It is a great ride!!!!!!

My wife hates drops, but LOVES RnRC...I'm pretty sure it was her first upside-down rollercoaster and she was super nervous, but now she rides it over and over. Now maybe if you could talk to her about Splash Mountain and ToT...

It happens so fast and you're in the dark you might not even notice going upside down.

I am not a big fan of rollercoasters in general. I do like BTMRR and Matterhorn, but i dont care for space mountain or EE, and have never had the nerve to do ToT, but i do like RnR. It is so smooth, and i love the aerosmith music, which is what i concentrated on when i first went on it. I was singing the songs in my head to keep my mind off the first time. I like that its dark and very hard to see the track unless you are in the first car, which i was in once and that was fine too.

Hope this helps, it is very, very smooth and fun!

You don't even know you are going upside down. After the first time I rode it, my husband said "i'm proud of you, you just went on your first upside down coaster!". I said "we went upside down? When?" True story. It's an awesome and fun ride, go for it!

RnR is SO fast. It's over almost as soon as it starts. One thing that helped me though...I wear glasses, so I had to take them off for this one. There for I couldn't really see what was coming up (well being visually challenged and the fact that it's dark). Every thing was just a big neon blurr. Close your eyes if you need too. But seriously, you're not upside down for very long!

I don't like going upside down either, but it really didn't bother me. It went by so quickly I didn't notice. For me, the problem was take-off. I wasn't expecting it to go from 0 to 60 in two seconds. By the time I convince myself to open my eyes I saw how really cool the ride was, then it was over.

This ride is not scary at all. It is seriously the tamest roller coaster I've ever been on. Even coasters at Six Flags are scarier. Trust me, I am a big coaster chicken. I won't ride a lot of roller coasters, but the RnR is nothing at all. Like others have said, it is very fast and over before you know it. It's actually kinda lame, unfortunately.

Question... do they have a harness that comes over your shoulders?

Can extra-tall people (think basketball player build) fit ok? My DH is 6'8" tall and hated Space Mountain cause he had no leg room.

The only loop I have ever done was the Super Dooper Looper at Hershey Park and that was a long time ago, dating myself there, ;) cause that was a big thrill ride until they added to that park.

I think EE is worse than RnR and I love both! The other thing with RnR is that there is Aerosmith music playing in the headrest and so that is a GREAT distraction. And it really gets you in the 'rockin' mood so you forget about the coaster. It's really awesome!

I am a roller coaster wuss, but I love this ride. I think being in the dark helps with the scare factor, you don't even know when you go upside down. As a matter of fact, the second time we rode it, hubby said, "I believe they have 2 different tracks, that time we went upside down." Then I informed him that we went upside down last time to, and he could not believe he didn't notice.

I LOVE that ride! If going upside down is what scares you about, don't worry! You probably won't even realize when it is happening. I wasn't even sure that we had gone upside down. It is a brilliant ride....not to be missed! If you can do those other fast rides, you can easily do this one. You will LOVE IT!!!:woohoo::cool1::woohoo::cool1:

Let me tell you, as an avid coaster hater, I did not want to ride RnR. My sweet DW tried everything to get me on it with her. She told me it was fine, there arent any loops at all. Well, I read here on the Dis that there are loops. So, I confronted her she then tells me that yes there are loops, BUT you cant even tell. So I reluctently went on it.

I felt every loop (its more of a horizontal corkscrew), but it wasnt that bad. Will I ever go on it again? Probably not. But i survived.

Only you can tell if you will like it or not.

I was in a similar boat. I like some roller coasters, but really just the tame ones. I REALLY didn't want to ride this one. DH wouldn't leave me alone until I did, and I HATED it. He claimed that you can't see the upside down part, but I darn well saw where the track turned upside and did not care for it at all. I told him that was the last time I was riding it. You should see our ride photo from it. As usual, my face is in a priceless horrified grimace. :lmao:

I think we're in the minority though. Every one else I have read about it seems to like it.

My son and hubby have been trying so hard for years to get me on the RNRC. I don't do so good with drops anymore. I have done the TOT(twice) and the Big Splash Mtn(many times) years ago(with plenty of unwanted outside influence), yet I can't understand what is cause of my phobic now. Aging? Probably!! Please help me conquer this last obstacle(RNRC) :rolleyes1

If you love EE, I feel like you will really enjoy this. It goes so fast and is in the dark that you barely realize you are going upside down. I definitely think EE is a much more intense coaster.

I was just like you! I have always been scared to death of RnR but wanted to ride it so badly! I agree with the poster who said watching youtube videos of the ride helps - I did that a lot! It also really helps to go on with someone who is NOT afraid. you don't want to feed off someone's jitters when you are petrified to begin with! I went on with my bf last year and there was no wait (another good thing) so I didn't have to think about what was to come much. And we were put in the very first row  the worst part for me was the corkscrew, but it's over in 2 seconds. and i loved it so much i went back on later that day! Try it, you'll be glad you did!
