Scared to ride Harry Potter

did Kali River Rapids at 3 and was fine
Haunted Mansion 18 months (he clapped during the ride lol) , 2 and 3 years old no problem
Test Track 3 yrs and he was fine on that

otherwise not many big rides because he was always too short (barely made Kali that year)

I think your questions make alot of sense Smallworld71... gives me some things to think about

hasnt been on dinosaur because was too short on our last trip. i thought id try him on space mountain and splash mountain the day before universal and see how those go

I'm going backwards and forwards as to whether to ride or not. Its the motion sickness thing that worries me. I was able to ride BTTF when that was there with no problems. But last trip we rode The Simpsons and we all got so sick. It felt like it just went on forever.

So I'm going down to Disney World/Universal Studios with the fam next week. I can handle pretty much all the rides at Disney with the exception of a few. I am not a coaster or spinning rider. I can handle motion rides like Soarin' and Star Tours and small coasters like Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain (no loops). I'm totally freaking myself out about going on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I know it's a motion ride but I also know how the bench moves you all around on the robotic arm. Not sure if I can handle four long minutes of that. Am I worrying about nothing? Are there any other ride chickens out there that loved the Harry Potter ride?

Please believe me when I say that there is NO GREATER ride chicken than me!!! Example: okay, you know the little dip in Pirates? Makes me nauseated. I still ride it, but I have to do it with a solid stomach and only once per day. I get sick if I sit in the back seat of a car. I can actually list the rides that I DO go on, because it's way shorter than the list of the ones that I DON'T go on. I am a motion-sick inner-ear vertigo or something weirdo.

I have ridden Forbidden Journey 3 times now. I'm never thrilled to ride it, (LOVE walking through the castle though) but I'm never "can't wait to get off this thing" either. I do enjoy it, and it's never made me ill because I close my eyes when I start with that feeling. It's a great ride. Wear shoes that stay on your feet well... the first time I rode it I could barely enjoy it because I was struggling to keep my flip-flops on!

I would suggest If you go on the ride to take one of the middle seats if you are afraid of heights. You can't see anything that is going on off the ride or how far up you are.

I never even thought of that, but GREAT suggestion! I am totally doing that next time.

It's not at all scary the way roller coasters are scary -- no suspense -- very calm few rapid motions. There are a lot of computer imagery. I don't sit well with that. :( It gets me dizzy. All of those kind of computer imagery rides do.

I felt like the goal of this ride was to make you sick. I didn't throw up or anything, but it took me a half hour to recover. I'm fine with all other rides, except maybe Mission Space sometimes. My husband also felt a little queasy and he's never gotten sick from a ride before.

actually, I felt like there weren't any rides at IOA that wouldn't make my parents sick. Even the Cat in the Hat made me a little dizzy.

Visiting IOA tomorrow. Still having hesitations about FJ. Went to US today, loved The Mummy but I hated The Simpsons. Too much motion, I kept my eyes closed for 90% of the ride. The size of the screen was wayntoo much for me. If I close my eyes on FJ will it be so bad? I don't want to miss out on the experience but I don't want this to be the longest 4 minutes of my life either.

If you're not sure, I recommend you close your eyes only during the simulation parts, when you're flying along with Harry and Ron. In general, these three portions are the ones that make most people sick.

Good to know. Thanks so much!
