Scarborough Town DS closing in two weeks!

I was in the store today and overheard a CM tell a guest that they were closing in two weeks and that they weren't gettting anymore supplies in.

Are any of your local stores closing?

Well maybe they will move it to London so it will be closer for southwestern Ontario folks to get to. Put it in White Oaks Mall that would be a perfect location just off the 401 and in the busiest mall in the city.

I was in there today (May 19th) and the CM did say they were closing but for renos. I didn't hear when they were reopening tho.

I didn't get to hear that they were re-opening, but that would be a good thing. I would really miss that store! Yo don't think that they would try and bring children's place up here do you?

Was in there at lunch today, and it was crazy !! the Beach towels were $9.99 and there was 30% on all the beach stuff.

As a former Scarborough Town DS CM, I can let you know that the store is indeed closing, but only to be renovated. There is no specific re-open date, but they have been told that it was be about 3 months. Trust me, that store is in dire need of a makeover and I'm glad they're finally getting it. Although, I do wish we had had a makeover while I was still there. A grand re-opening would've been fun. There's always a possiblity of a Minnie/Mickey visit.

Just an added note.... there are already lots of Children's Place stores up here. Fairview has one, Eaton Centre, pretty sure Yorkdale has one and there's a big one in the new Vaughan Mills mall.

There is a rumour going around at the Vaughan Mills Mall (I work there) that the Disney Store might be going in. I'm not going to give out all the details because it is just a rumour and I don't want to start anything but there is a couple of store that are closing and a lot of big name companies are moving in and one of the ones that has been mentioned is the Disney Store!! I hope this is true!!

Just to let you all know that all the Disney stores in Canada are going to be renovated over the next 2 years so they will all be shutting down at some point for a short period of time. I think 4 stores across the country are slated for renos this summer. Don't know about more stores opening, just know that when Children's Place took over they said they wanted more stores in Canada.we will have to wait and see!

The rumour about Vaughan Mills might be more truth than rumour. Back in November when my manager was telling us about the sale and what changes where going to take place, she mentioned Vaughan Mills and that TCP had already secured space up there. It wasn't supposed to be a regular Disney store, she said that it would be a Disney Outlet. TCP also had plans to get www.disneystore.com back up and running and have a catalogue of their own.

Im sure that the 4 original stores that opened in the Toronto area are going to be the re-models. Its been way over 10 years. Last time I was in The Eaton Centre Location the rug was thread bare at the front doors. My old store ( Im a fmr CM too) Limeridge in Hamilton, is over 10 years old, that whole mall has had a major reno, I wonder if it will be re-modeled as well?

Our store closed here in Ann Arbor several months ago. Now I've got a Disney Credit Card and noplace to use it (one of the pre-VISA ones). We just keep a 0 balance on it and will likely use it when we go on our upcoming trips.

I'm really bummed they're closing a lot of them now.

StuartMI I was by Ann Arbor on the 14th and the 15th of may I was at the marriot in umm that place that starts with a Y its a wierd name I don't know how to pronounce for the I love dance compitetion !! Nice place but near our hotel the store where you buy booze was very scarey! hahaha

The Scarborough Town Centre store is now closed down as of today..As a cast member from that store it will be renovated over the summer and reopen probably sometime in late August early September..depends on how fast they will take to renovate the place. I'm sure they will advertise it or information in scarborough town centre. Hope to see u all at the opening
