Scandalous Question...Is Cindy's worth it?

It's DD's 7th Birthday on our first day in florida and I had planned to try and book CRT, have all the info ready about which numbers to ring and what to press but, is it worth the extra effort and strife?
Two years ago we did PSB and that was great but don't really want to do it again, want something different, have read bad reports about cindy's, plated food etc but that doesn@t matter so much as she does not eat anyway! We have been in the castle at DLP so, there is no mystery about going in there. She loves the princesses but Cinderella is not her favourite. tink is her idol, closely followed by peter pan, we met them last time, and i have a nagging idea that there is or was a gala dinner with PP at Grand Floridian.
so, what do you think?

Should I try for cindy's or look at a gala dinner at grand floridian maybe? Had a breakfast there last time and loved it. Would love to hear your views.

Peter Pan does not appear at the Grand Floridian - that is Cinderella's Gala Feast so just Cindy, Prince Charming, the mice and Fairy Godmother.

Hmmmm, I would say that Cindy's is nice to do if you have the opportunity but at the end of the day it's just another breakfast! If your DD isn't going to be that impressed by the Princesses then I'd probably not put myself out to try and book.

If you are looking for something special for your daughter's brithday why don't you do the Family Magic Tour? No character is definite but Peter Pan is usually the scheduled character to meet for that tour as you are normally trying to foil Captain Hook's evil plans! (It's kinda like a scavenger hunt around the MK). Last I looked it cost $25 per person aged 3 and up.

I saw a tour group doing this a couple of trips back - Peter Pan was skipping across the street near the Christmas shop (there is a little meet and greet area behind there where I think they had their picture taken with Peter) with a string of little kids in his wake...a lot of envious looks were going their way too!

Just an alternate idea :)

Thanks Penny thats sounds amazing, had not heard about tour as i usually skip those bits in the books, assuming tours were long and boring and DD,s were too young, oops, got that wrong! :confused3 . she would love it, especially if it turned out to be Peter Pan.
How can i book the tour? Is it difficult to get?

thanks in advance :flower:

Bit torn between going for the CRT or the one in Norway Epcot. Knowing my luck the DD's will go off Princesses just after i have booked

:sad2:

Hi cochise, as you can see from my posts, i haven't done CRT and probably wont now after Pennys advice but, i have to recommend the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot (norway) my Dd,s loved it, they were 7 & 5 then and they were ecstatic outside before we even went in, as they caught glimpses of the princesses, we had mulan, Belle, snow white, jasmine and sleeping beauty, all spent time at the table, chatting etc and posed for all the photos we wanted, dont think the DD's ate a mouthful but they loved it, still talk about it now, it was a highlight of the holiday.

We ate at CRT in December and loved it. It wasn't just about the food here for us; the atmosphere, the surroundings, the service and the interaction with characters was absolutely outstanding. Each princess spend some time with us, asking questions, quite in character. Fantastic. Big thumbs up. My DDs have also gone into the castle at DLP but this was very different.Oh and the food was good too though like you I'd heard otherwise. But the food was almost secondary to the whole "experience".

Sounds like you may be better off with a Family Magic Tour though. If your DD is mad on Tink, have you ever done the "Wake Up Tink" in the shop in Fantasyland?

hi miffy, i have read some threads about waking up tink but thought it was just luck if you were first in the shop, does it happen every day? any tips?

There are some good ideas for kids' birthdays on Deb Wills' site. Sounds as though you can pre-order a character birthday cake if you make a PS almost anywhere onsite.

Thanks Deb, there are some great ideas on there, just booked the Family Magic Tour for my DD's 7th, but it is my other DD's birthday 8 days later and she will be 9 so, am still looking for more ideas!

AFAIK Claire, if you are the first guest in the shop you get to do this, sorry can't be any more help than that!

Well, I see that you booked the tour already - I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy it regardless of whether Peter is in attendance or not, everyone who I've seen do it has had a great time! :) Perhaps it might be an idea not to mention at all that Peter might be there though (if you haven't already) - avoids disappointment if he's not, and an even bigger surprise if he is! :)

I think your DD is going to have a wonderful birthday - be sure to get her a free birthday button at Main Street Guest Services when you arrive at the MK too.

Hi Penny,
I'm planning on not saying anything about characters (although the secret is killing me already, :Pinkbounc and would love to tell!) just going to tell the kids its a tour, from what I've read, the CM start out by asking you to help him clean the park then, gets a radio message for help from PP against captain hook, the surprise should be great, the DD's would enjoy the scavenger part of the tour even without the character at the end.

My other DD is 9 a week later, hoping to get an illuminations cruise for that, fingeres crossed :flower:

Thanks for the help with the tour.
