Guys Im wondering if this is possible (not that I would ever do sucha thing) can you bring previously used but not completely used park hopper passes and use them to get second or third fastpasses?? If you had your acutal park pass plus two mostly used ones, you could be on a three FP cycle and living large.. Or does the FP machine have some type of connection with the gate system.. That would be a bit of an engineering challenge really but not unfeasable.

The pass has to be used to enter the park that day before it will work in the Fastpass machines.

::yes:: Yep..... it's amazing but true..... Disney not only has some of the most technically advanced entertainment around; but it has also designed a computer system that ties into others!!! :)

If you insert a ticket that wasn't used for admission, you'll get the message along the lines of " NOT A VALID FASTPASS. Please insert the ticket you used for admission into the park today"

But when they first started the system it didnt' have any connection...you could get tickets by using just about anything with a magnetic strip on it...:smooth:

This was fixed fairly quickly though...

No,not anymore Disney fixed that problem and if someone does know a way around it now it won't be posted here at the DIS because if it is it will be removed !::yes::

Ummmm.... that's a warning folks, to keep this thread civil because this subject tends to turn hot!!!! :sunny:

Guess you didn't read my post Baloo....

That is why I stated that they fixed the problem fairly quickly....

I would guess she read it, zurgswife. She's posting a friendly reminder because a friendly reminder needs to be posted. :)

Guess I'm lost because I don't hang out here and know that this topic is a problem...just learned my lesson.

Basically the problem is that for everything that Disney does that has sometype of limitation, someone will try and come up with a way to cheat the system which is the very reason the fast pass system was changed. There is no telling how much that change cost and that cost was passed on to each of us.

Which is the very reason why so many here at DIS become upset over those that try very hard to share ways to beat the system and thankfully the moderators recoginze those topics and keep a handle on it. :)

Hence the reason for Baloo's comment.

I am fearful to ask but do think that I read somewhere that there are a few attractions that are not tied into the central system so you can get a FP for them almost anytime. Might that still be true? On our recent trip we saw quite a few attractions where the cm's were handing out FP's without us having to scan our tickets. I loved it!!

I don't really think this would be considered cheating the system, or maybe I might be wrong, and if so I'm sure someone out there will correct me. Last time we went we got fast passes for everyone in our party even if they werent/couldn't ride that particular ride. For instance, while my dh, and ds were on RnRc, I got fast passes with all our ticket for TOT, and they got to do it twice in the Fp line,my mom or me or dd do not ride the RnRc or TOT. My dd, & mom didn't want to ride splash mtn, so the first time me, dh, ds rode it and then me and ds rode it again. I guess it might not exactly be fair for others but we had fun.

I don't blaim you for this. In fact, I wish some of my party would not ride so I could do this. (laughing). I see nothing wrong with it. You pay good money to go to these parks and you are like everybody else, you want to get your moneys worth. Again, don't blaim you a bit.

That pass is paid for and has every right to get a Fast Pass. Whatever the owner of that ticket decides to do with that FP is their decision. They can give it to other members of their party or they could hand it to someone walking by. So I sure don't feel you have anything to feel guilty about.

I had a very nice lady give my DD and myself a fast pass for the Pooh ride. She couldn't use it and we were about to go back to the hotel for awhile. I wasn't about to wait 45 mintues so this was a miracle. DD was thrilled. She did a nice thing not an "illegal" thing by giving away her fast pass.
I see nothing wrong with everyone in your party getting fast passes so some can ride twice. They are entitled to fast passes and it is up to them to do with it as they please.

We did that for TOT. We had grabbed FP before going in the standby line because we expected to do it again. Well, my DH was too motion sick (although he said TOT was the best ride he had ever been on!) to do it again. I looked for a group of 4 heading to the standby line and saw a lady w/ 3 kids. She looked frazzled and had that 'clenched teeth so you don't yell but you're this-close to yelling' look so I figured she could use a pick me up. I asked her how many were in her party and offered her our FPs. I hope it made her day a little better. She and the kids were extremely grateful. We did the same thing later with Splash Mtn FP since we were getting cranky and decided to head back to the hotel before our pass time. I hated to see FPs go to waste.

Let's imagine ...

Suppose you could do that but ...

When you inserted a park pass that had not been used at the turnstile but had some day(s) left on it, ...

the Fast Pass machine ticked off a day on that park pass and also gave you your Fast Pass.

There is one rare but possible use for this, suppose the turnstile system malfunctioned, they would have to have some manual procedure to let people into the park, then, once the system was up and running again, use the Fast Pass system to catch as many park passes as it can and mark them as used for the day.

You mean the moderators will quickly remove that post from The Dis forums or do you mean the imagineers will quickly close that loophole in the Fast Pass system?

We mean the moderators will remove the post. While we love to share ideas on how to make the most of your touring, the DIS does not allow posts telling guests how to 'cheat' Disney. :)

Funny how things are perceived. Finding a way to get on more rides when Disney loads the park beyond capacity is "Cheating Disney". Not really, but it is cheating your fellow visitors attending Disney. But when Disney charges $3 for a bottle of water, it is considered "Good Business". I know I know, you are not forced to buy the water.

While I do not condone this or line jumping, etc., I find the concept curious.

We just returned from Anaheim last night.

We are a family of 4, and DS4 isn't tall enough or old enough to ride California Screain'.

We used all four APs and got 4 FPs for CS . I rode with DS10, then DH rode with DS10.

I never felt like I was ripping off the system. DS10 got to ride 2x, each time with a parent.

Disney makes you purchase tickets for 3 year olds who aren't tall enough for everything. If their system will give me a FP I will use it.

My perception is that people on these boards are trying to gain a bit more knowledge about all things Disney and while we may go overboard a tiny bit from time to time, no one is trying to cheat Disney or anyone else. If we wanted to be like the 'normal' visitor and wander around with a lost and scared look in our eyes we would not be reading these posts and trading "inside" info with each other. LOL

Still learning, SG/Linda
