This sounds similar to a "promotion" that was offered to me a couple of years ago. I do not remember the company's name, but it was ridiculous. The offer was extended from a company that is partners with Universal Studios. They called me telling me that I was being offered a free vacation including a 2 night cruise and a 4 night stay at a hotel all in the name of promoting there business. I did not have to give any credit card information at that moment, so I accepted the offer. The next week someone called me telling me that my vacation was booked and that that the only thing I needed to do was pay $90 for some sort of fee. I had received a booklet with our information, so I knew it was in fact real. I gave them my info. All was well, nothing was charged other than the $90 and we had our vouchers and itinerary, so it sounded good to us. The week later we receive another call telling us that the room that was included in the package for the cruise was an inside stateroom that in the agents words were "very small and uncomfortable" and that for $350 we could upgrade to an oceanview or for $700 a Verandah. Although it sounded nice, at this point I was starting to get nervous. I told them that I would think about it. They tell you you need to make a decision within the next couple of days because it is a "limited" offer. To make a long story short, these promotions are real, but in the end you pay way more than what is being offered. They try and get you with all these add ons and before you know it, your paying way more than what its worth. We googled the company, the "cruise ship" was insanely small, it looked like a small yacht. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are beautiful, big yachts, but when you hear cruise, you think very big ship. Their was a video on
youtube of a man posted who posted a video of the "ship" and the cabin and it was horrible. You could barely fit 2 people in the room. Barely any space in the hallways. There was an actual sign on the elevators saying "heavy people" please use the stairs. I read that the customer service was horrible, that sign alone is offensive. You had to pay for everything on the ship including food. It was ridiculous. I am so glad we canceled. BEWARE and AVOID at ALL costs!!
