I got a phone call this afternoon from "carribean cruises," because I supposedly filled out a survey online about a cruise or something. They are offering me a 3 night cruise in the next 18 months to promote their new ship. I told him I didn't have time to talk right now and he gave me a phone number to call back. Does anyone know of this supposed cruise line, I'm assuming it's a scam and have NO intention of giving them any credit card info or anything, but theirs a tiny little part of me hoping it's legit ;)

I did find a website but I didn't see any contact info on it to see if I could verify that way. Whenever I fill out one of them surveys or prize things like that I always wonder if I'll actually believe it's real when they call. lol

I saw a 'worst cruise cabins' article on Facebook last week from Cruise Critic. They showed the rooms they put the 'time share never ending seminars' people in. My closet is larger...

Google them - all kinds of horrible stories.

The BBB gives them an F rating for
"Factors that lowered Caribbean Cruise Line's rating include:
Length of time business has been operating.
1305 complaints filed against business
Advertising issue(s) found by BBB.
Business has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints."

Very good advice. I'm sorry to hear that this is probably a scam, but I'm glad that you are using your head! :)

This sounds similar to a "promotion" that was offered to me a couple of years ago. I do not remember the company's name, but it was ridiculous. The offer was extended from a company that is partners with Universal Studios. They called me telling me that I was being offered a free vacation including a 2 night cruise and a 4 night stay at a hotel all in the name of promoting there business. I did not have to give any credit card information at that moment, so I accepted the offer. The next week someone called me telling me that my vacation was booked and that that the only thing I needed to do was pay $90 for some sort of fee. I had received a booklet with our information, so I knew it was in fact real. I gave them my info. All was well, nothing was charged other than the $90 and we had our vouchers and itinerary, so it sounded good to us. The week later we receive another call telling us that the room that was included in the package for the cruise was an inside stateroom that in the agents words were "very small and uncomfortable" and that for $350 we could upgrade to an oceanview or for $700 a Verandah. Although it sounded nice, at this point I was starting to get nervous. I told them that I would think about it. They tell you you need to make a decision within the next couple of days because it is a "limited" offer. To make a long story short, these promotions are real, but in the end you pay way more than what is being offered. They try and get you with all these add ons and before you know it, your paying way more than what its worth. We googled the company, the "cruise ship" was insanely small, it looked like a small yacht. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are beautiful, big yachts, but when you hear cruise, you think very big ship. Their was a video on youtube of a man posted who posted a video of the "ship" and the cabin and it was horrible. You could barely fit 2 people in the room. Barely any space in the hallways. There was an actual sign on the elevators saying "heavy people" please use the stairs. I read that the customer service was horrible, that sign alone is offensive. You had to pay for everything on the ship including food. It was ridiculous. I am so glad we canceled. BEWARE and AVOID at ALL costs!!

I got a call the other day about a $6,000 trip package I won from filling out some form. I said I wasn't interested and the caller objected and I proceeded to hang up. He called back!!!! Unbelievable.

I've come to learn that no one gives anything for nothing - there's always some price to pay.

My friend got this call too. They have an F from the BBB. There are stories you can read by people who have done this on cruise critic's message boards under Celebration Cruise Lines.

Thanks for the information, sounds like it could actually be a legit offer but with the F rating I will not be looking any further into this. I'm taking my first Disney Cruise in January, so i'm pretty sure I'll be way too spoiled by then to be taking some crappy F rated cruise ;)
