I've read threads about the best place to find steak and sushi in WDW,,,how about scallops?

I loved mine at Narcoossee's. I actually substituted them for "Turf" on Surf & Turf entree. Very large, tender and good portion size even for a two item entree.

Had scallops at a few WDW restaurants last couple of trips quick summary..

Blue zoo - great flavor, very very slightly overcooked, delicious

narcossees - prefectly prepared, not blown away by the flavor, but very good

Yatchman's - so, so..

Jiko's - my favorite out of the bunch, but probably not for those who does not eat spicy at all. isn't always on the menu thou, at least we didn't see it in nov, but was there last month.

The scallop appetizer at HBD is probably my single favorite dish. I think on my next trip, I'm just going to order one as an appetizer and then another as my entree.

I was not blown away by the scallops at Yachtsman or Narcoosees. I don't think they were on the menu in Jan at JIKO either.

Just had them a couple of weeks ago at Jiko. Large and sweet and perfectly grilled. Served on Pap, which is sort of like polenta, with a spicy tomato sauce. Combination of sweet and spicy was great.

Just have to totally agree with that :thumbsup2

Cold water sea scallops are on the menu at Teppan Edo (EPCOT), but I didn't have them when we were there so I can't comment on the taste.

Thank you everyone!! It helps me narrow down choices as March 3rd I can call and make adrs! I want to do a signature dining experience, and so i think I'm narrowing it down between Jiko and California Grill. But the more times I can eat scallops on vacation the better it is for me!

i had exactly the same experience.

i also tried the scallops at the california grill - but they were not as good as at jiko.

Anyone have the scallops at Kona? They sound great, as I know DH loves passion fruit and guava since going to Hawaii.

I had the Kona scallops and they were great. They come with breaded shrimp - I found the breading a little too heavy so i pulled it off and the shrimp were great without it. It is served with a sticky rice and a nice drizzle of sauce. I always have this one - yummy!!

This is my DH's post and he failed to mention that I am the scalloped obsessed one in the house and I think my favs were from bluezoo, but it was just an appetizer. Wish it was a full meal! :D I am definitely hoping to try the ones at Teppan Edo soon. I don't know what HBD is but I'll have to figure that one out and try it too :D

What is HBD?

Hollywood Brown Derby. The appetizer is a scallop on a bed of pork belly. I was licking in between the fork tongs it was so good.

So sorry I've missed the scallops at JIKO. They sound marvelous. Maybe next trip I'll be able to catch them.

Between Ca Grill and JIKO, I would choose JIKO. Not just for the food but the atmosphere.

The scallops were back on at Jiko last week - I don't know how long for though!

I'd choose Jiko over California Grill also, I found the food and atmosphere superb - I will be posting a bit of a report on our dinner there last week for my Mum's birthday - as soon as I get time :)

I've had the scallops at Narcoosee's and Kona. Kona was much better. The scallops and shrimp entree at Kona is my favorite! I also take the breading off the shrimp.
