SCAL-can anyone help me make a file?

Hi all,
I am such a lurker here, but I have never posted in this forum. I have just dusted off my SCAL (version 2.030) and Cricut and am hoping to make a file. I took my son to the Nick Jr. Fresh Beat's Live in concert show and I have a picture of the logo. I have never created my own file. I have a feeling this is way beyond my capabilities at this point. Can anyone help me by pointing me towards a very easy tutorial? Would i even need another program to make this happen?

I use inkscape to make files

that link shows what what you start with then links to spots that explain the lady thought did a really good job of explaining
if you understand what "nodes" are then you can do it - when that click in my head, I really got started (I do admit that after a month, I almost gave up the whole idea of making my own, then that click & I haven't bought a cricut cart except for a couple that I really loved)

and yes I post toy story cuts a month before they anouced that cart, & even said I wished they had it
