Any ideas for "memorial" scrapbook pages dedicated to family members who have passed away? My father recently passed away and I gathered a few things to put on our family scrapbook. I'm just looking for ideas.

I think I saw something in this months CK magazine or maybe you can go to 2peasinabucket,com and do a search to see what others have done!

If you have a CM consultant they use to have wonderful die cuts awhile back. They were doves, a church and a really neat stainglass window one as well as an angel. Ask a CM if she can get her hands on any of these old ones they would be perfect. They use to sell them by the die cut as well as in packs.

I am sorry about your dad passing away, but you have a wonderful idea in creating a memory book about him.

I started getting Simple Scrapbooking magazine just this year. I don't have them nearby, but I believe there was an article - maybe the March-April issue? - on this subject.

I have given memory books to two different friends after their loved one passed away. I just completed my second sb memory book earlier this month.

The first one was my very first scrapbook. The deceased & his family were Disneyholics - that is how I originally met his & his family. I knew these folks & have been to WDW with them, so it was easy to do. I found a booklet full of Disney pages to use plus stickers, etc. I gave it to the family, & the wife opened it & then quickly closed it & put it aside. I was so excited about how well my first sb came out. My first reaction was she didn't even look at it. Well, what I didn't realize was how emotional the book was for her (this was several years after her husband passed away). She sent a beautiful thank you note later :).

The second book was about a colleague's sister I had only met a couple of times. I gathered some stories from some siblings & other family members & friends. We attended a family gathering recently where I quietly presented the book to the husband & two sons (in their early thirties). Early on I questioned spending money on a good scrapbook & accessories for someone I hardly knew, but when I saw their faces, it made the whole scrapbook so worth while. They were very touched by not only what they saw inside, but by my time & effort to put this together.

I used an 8.5" x 11" top loading album for both memory books. I included stories (hand written & typed) & a few photos.

You might want to consider asking siblings, other relatives & various friends to write a memory about your dad. i provided the acid-free paper & pens for the individual to write on. Then we looked through my stickers, die cuts, etc. to give the page some individuality. Think about favorite activities, trips, hobbies; memories from childhood & growing up - yours & your dad's; how did your parents meet, their dating, wedding, etc.

I know this wil lbe a very emotional project for you, but please don't give up this wonderful idea. I think you will be pleased :).

I forgot to mention that one of my LSS has a 12" long sticker that says "In Loving Memory" with green ivy on either side.

Also, in both books I mentioned above I included a title page with a title, authorship - "written by family & friends with LOVE," & a dedication, "publishing" date, etc.

I'm bumping this up to help answer a current question about putting together a similar type album.

What Ive done for my kids, sisters, and friends that are angels (Im surrounded by lots of angels) is taken all my favorite pictures of them and had the others (and me) who were there for that picture talk about that day and the story behind it- Its my way of remembering the good times with that person. Most of the books I coordinated the pages to the pictures (ie disney ones had disney accents, etc) but for the littlest of angels whose pictures are all basically the same I used one color and emphasised it

My books have ranged from 10 pages to 40
