I need a way to store my paper. I don't have alot of space, in fact I keep all my supplies in one of those Navagitor bags. But, I would like a way to keep my paper so I could label each color. Right now it's just all in one folder. Well most of it is. The rest just sits inside the bag. It's just a pain when you know what color your looking for, but have to thumb thru everything.;)

Any suggestions or tips on this topic?:D
P.S. this would be for 12x12 paper.

Thanks...

I keep mine in an accordion type file folder case. I think it's made by Generations, but I'm not sure. I think I got it at Michael's. It's green, has 18 pockets, and is made of a cardboard material and works great!
The only problem is that it's showing it's wear now, after about 2 years of use. I've seen one on joann.com that's called a Paper Taker. It looks like it might be more durable but I have to see one in person before I'll by it. I need it to have as many pockets as my current one.
I keep my papers sorted by color. I also have a a pocket with templates for lettering and such, a pocket for stickers which I keep in sleeves, and pockets for specific themes: hockey, tooth fairy, etc.

I just changed my paper storage for the third time...I went from Cropper Hopper to 3 drawer cart to a new Rubbermaid storage bin so I can store it upright. I think I got the 30 or 40 gallon size with a domed lid. It's PERFECT for 12 x 12 and if you don't fill it completely you can store a binder or something else in it to hold the paper upright. For me, this is the BEST storage solution I've found...I love it. It doesn't take up a lot of space and I have totally easy access to my paper.

Holy buckets, giatocj!! How much paper do you have?!?!?!?! ;)
Since I live an hour from any good LSS's I tend to stock up when I can but, man! A rubbermaid tote... You beat me!:D

LOL...I have A LOT!!!! I am a paper "collector"...but I usually do put a dent in it from time to time:) If you can believe it, the tote I bought is JAM PACKED!!! I can't fit one more piece into it...and I just got a delivery of Bazzill CS and Specialty papers yesterday!!! I have NO IDEA where that's going to go...It's a sickness:) And even worse, my Disney album for my March trip is being done with Creative Memories albums so I'm scrapping directly onto those pages so I'm using LESS paper than normal!!!

We have no scrapbook stores near us either, so I mostly shop on line or when I travel. Before I leave home I scope out every sb store in the area where I'll be...luckily my boyfriend is a good sport!!!

Have you posted any Disney LO's anywhere??? I'd love to see some. Mine are posted on the ScrapJazz board...the few that I've done since we got back. (I hope it's ok to mention other boards here...some places don't like that).

I used to use an accordian file, then a CIS Paper Taker, but I outgrew both of those (my paper was getting ruined) so I bought a nifty metal rolling file cart at Office Depot. It holds a *ton* of hanging file folders, both standard and legal. It has a wire shelf below the files and then two wire "drawers" beneath the shelf. It cost around $25 if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I bought 2 boxes of legal-size hanging file folders and converted them to hold 12x12 paper. You cut on folder open on the bottom seam, then cut the top part off of another, then tape the two together with clear packing tape to make one long folder. Mine are about 13" deep to make sure none of the paper sticks out on top. It works really well, and I'm really pleased with this way of storing paper. It keeps it organized and safe. :)

Thanks for the replys!! I found the paper taker, I really like it. I'm going to check that out!;)

I have 12 x 12 and also 8.5 x 11. I store them in 3 archival envelopes per size - one for plain, one for print, and one for Disney! I do have one drawer in a rolling card that holds cropping blocks, I do have a lot of those as well as 5 x7 papers, etc.

I tend to use my papers less as wallpaper and more as accents though so that may be the difference.

Can I print this thread to show DH when he starts getting that "look"? You know, the one where he rolls his eyes. LOL

I guess I don't have that much paper. I bought a transparent plastic folder at Michael's a week or so ago. It's just a one pocket folder that has a flap for the lid and then the two round things that you wind a string around to close it. After I filled it, I can see how it might not last that long, but it will work for now. I'd LOVE to get one of those scrapbook totes/organizers on wheels that have folders in them that you can remove, use it elsewhere and then put back into the tote. Those look really nice. Office Depot has them. The next time they come out with one of those amazing $25 off $75 coupons, it's mine! LOL

Jeez Louise, am I the ONLY paper collector on this board??? LOL...just kidding...I just need to know where you all get your self control when it comes to paper...I just can't resist it...especially when I see tons of new stuff coming out...like the Rebecca Sower stuff...and Mustard Moon...and those Cloud 9 Papers are to die for!!!

I had a cropper hopper with the files in it, but I quickly outgrew it with my paper stash...the folders just weren't big enough. Good grief, I think I'm going to have to find a local Papers Anonymous Group!!!

I didn't think I had much paper until I decided to inventory it on a computer spreadsheet. YIKES!!!! Those 1 or 2 pieces of this and that really added up. I tried putting myself on a hold but I couldn't pass up the new KI Memories line and the Stitches line by SEI. I LOVE patterned paper, now I just have to USE it.

I have outgrown my wire cart from Staples, I have the one that takes 12 x 12 and 8.5 x 11 files. At the time I mostly had the smaller sized papers and cut down my larger papers. Now I just stopped trimming them down and have run out of space for the 12 x 12. My cardstock is stored on letter trays on my bookshelf by color families. Time for a new system I guess.

My fiance is a welder, he makes wire shelving units and other stuff at work. So lucky me-after a few years of bugging he finally made me some wire shelves!! The same type you would find in your LSS, they are 12 by 12, 2 wide and 5 high so I will have 10 slots for my paper, each slot is about 2 inches wide...Perfect!!! They are at the powder coaters right now getting finished.

I have my solid color 12 x 12 sorted in a paper taker which I LOVE. My print 12 x 12 is in one of those corrugated cardboard paper sorters and all of my 8 1/2 x 11 is sorted into a rubbermaid type container with hanging file folders. (printed sorted separately from solids). I USED to buy every piece of paper I saw that I loved the color or pattern on--now I am much more selective, purchasing paper for specific pages only except for certain colors of solid cardstock which I tend to use frequently (like shades of red and blue and yellow for all those disney pages!) and then I buy in bulk!! For organizing other stuff, I bought 2 of those plastic drawer units on wheeles you can get at office max for about $15. works great for die cuts, punches, and other miscellaneous tools!!

I also used to be a paper collector, but have slowed down a bit. I still buy alot of solid carstock-I hate to not have "the" perfect color for a layout. I now have 12 x 12 clear stackable trays for my paper. I have 12 of them stacked on my desk. It's nice because I can see everything easily and it's all in reach. I used to use the corrugated cardboard drawer things, but after a while the drawers are not so easy to open.

i use wire shelves which are made from Target wire cubes- they are pretty commonplace amongst scrappers. I also have a paper taker which I really like, but it will only hold about 1/2 of my paper - I use it for travelling though.

I have 2 cubes this size, one for solids and one for patterned paper

the shelves are held together with cable ties

this works pretty well, but I do sometimes bend the corner of the bottom piece in each stack, so I am thinking about trying to cover the shelves with something, maybe sticky back plastic?

My scraps are in one of the small, red Generations accordian boxes that bananiem described. I have a lot of paper scraps from paper piecing and I have them sorted by color.

My 8.5 X 11 is sorted by color in a filing cabinet in the living room.

My 12 X 12 is sorted by color in a larger, green Generations accordian boxes. I'd like to find something with more space, because it is crowded. Guess I am pretty happy with my system for right now, but I'm always looking for something better.

They are about 5 inches deep...and are made to hold 12 by 12 paper! They are blue on the outside, with sliding drawers.

They are two to a set, and were $11...I used my 50% off coupon.

I am going to separate by color, and type and use them for like...Disney, and the slabs I just bought at Michael's.

Everything will stay neat and tidy now!

They would also be great for rubber stamps or punches.
