I think the moral of this story is to always get receipts for your purchases - cash or charge.
I know that on my last trip we did two e-ticket purchases on the same day. My daughter decided she wanted to do e-ride night instead of staying in the room. One purchase was charged ( two tickets for my wife and I ) and the later purchase was paid by cash ( my daughter's ticket ). In both cases I was given a receipt for the purchase. On my bill at checkout I only saw what I expected to see - the charge purchases that I had made during that stay. There weren't many , as most of the smaller purchases during the stay were cash transactions.
Personally I would not have walked away from a purchase without a receipt that I have reviewed to make sure it is correct. A dishonest cast member can only take advantage of those opportunities that exist. Simply waiting for the receipt would have given you the proof that your side of the story was correct.
Didn't Reagan say it best : "Trust, but Verify !"
