Say a Little Prayer for my Mom - Update 3/9 - Page 4;Post #46

Tonya - so sorry to hear the news about your mum. Take care of yourself and will keep you and your family in my prayers

Hang in there, chickie. You know we're here for you....and you have my phone number. Use it whenever you like (and I'll continue to call you by mistake!).

i am so very very sorry to hear this Tonya....
you and your mother and your family will be in my prayers...

metasteses in the bone can be extraordinarily painful......even more than in soft tissue....pain control is very important when cancer metastesizes to the bones...
if your mom is the stiff upper lip sort of person, she may not let on how painful it is......your dad might want to talk to her doctor about it (in terms of helping your mom in that area...
patients sometimes don't like to complain - or sometimes wait and suffer a really long time before they finally ask for something to alleviate the pain..

i hope her treatments go well...

Tonya, so very very sorry to hear about your Mom, my thoughts and prayers are with her and your entire family during this hard time...:daisy:

I thought of you the whole week.....

This is really not the news you wanted and like we already talked about, it's facing reality......
I hate reality........

Lots of  and we think about you and your family.

Oh Tonya, my heart goes out to you. Lots of prayers are coming your mom's way now. :grouphug:

Tonya-
I will keep your mom in my prayers that she fights this and has a full recovery- Cancer is such a nasty thing- I am thinking of you and your family :grouphug:

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Being a caretaker can be a very demanding job, remember to take little moments to take care of yourself so that you can give your mom and family every bit of love you can.

I am sorry to hear about your Mom and will include her and your family in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope she does well with treatment and improves quickly.

I have been through this twice so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns. I knew I could count on my DIS family. :grouphug: I told my Mom that all of my DIS friends from around the world were praying and thinking of her - she said thank you and that she needs them.

My Mom is doing exceptionally well. She is able to move her neck some so the radiation must be starting to shrink the tumor. Her pain seems to be under control with the pain patch - although it does make her groggy at times. We will get the results of the biopsy today or tomorrow and then know whether she only has to take chemo pills or IV chemo - hopefully only the pills.

This would all be easier if it wasn't during the holidays and my Mom's birthday wasn't the 21st. We keep doing the WASP thing and smiling through the pain for the grandkids sake but there is an undercurrent of sadness that is hard to overcome. These "this could be the last time" thoughts keep popping in to your head and you just want to burst in to tears. :sad1:

Okay, enough with the depressing stuff. I hope all you have a wonderful Christmas/holiday with your families and hopefully Santa will leave everyone a trip to Disney World or a Podcast Cruise. :mickeyjum

Oh, no! I am so sorry, Tonya. Now I understand why you were off talking to your dad.

Your mom will definitely be in my thoughts. Please keep us posted.

If anyone needs to know the quiet spots to make phone calls so no one knows you are in a theme park, just let me know - they are hard to come by. :rotfl2:

Tonya,

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll be keeping your mom in my thoughts and payers. If there is anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to ask. Just send me a PM.

It was a pleasure hanging out with you this past week. Thanks for being our fearless leader during the Drink Around the World meet.
Happy thoughts...Ok.

Your friend,
Aaron

Tonya - keeping your Mom in my prayers.:grouphug:

What I wouldn't do to have a lemon slushie under the glow of the Mickey light saber with all of my friends! right now!! I miss everyone and can't wait until May!!!!

Hang in there, chickie. You know we're here for you....and you have my phone number. Use it whenever you like (and I'll continue to call you by mistake!).

Hmmm, maybe I should change my phone number. :rotfl2: Wouldn't want to end up in a cistern - unless Will is in there already. ;)

She is using a Fentanyl patch that is keeping everything pain free right now. Thankfully my father is a doctor and is adamant about pain control. The biggest problem right now is that she doesn't have any appetite so I keep having to put food in front of her although she doesn't want any. At least it is Christmas time and there is lots of food around the house - now if only I would stop eating those darned cookies. :rolleyes1

I thought of you the whole week.....

This is really not the news you wanted and like we already talked about, it's facing reality......
I hate reality........

Lots of  and we think about you and your family.

Sometimes reality sucks!!! :lmao: What I wouldn't do to just be hanging out at Epcot with you right now.

Oh and did I mention that my father is in the middle of a kidney stone episode. And if there was a picture of a bad patient in the dictionary, it would be my father. :rolleyes1 I am trying to be understanding but have been mumbling my nickname for him under my breath a lot lately - Cranky A** :rotfl:
