I own a timeshare in Orlando that I always exchange thru RCI. Because its in Orlando, I can't trade for the DVC resorts, BUT, I can exchange for Vero Beach and HHI. (To solve this problem, we own some DVC points too :lmao:)

I just saw a 2 bedroom for a week at HHI for December available for exchange. Ugh...I wish I could travel then because I would scoop that right up! I would have to save points for a few years to be able to get a 2 BR for a week! Someone PLEASE take advantage of this offer!! It is killing me knowing I can't grab it!! LOL!

LOL! I know the feeling. We are added a trip to WDW this Oct because I couldn't pass up a 3BR at SSR during F&W spotted in RCI Weeks. My attempt to quietly say, "No, thanks." came out as, "I gotta have it!" and so it goes. :D

a 3 BEDROOM??? Wow that is a lucky score! What timeshare do you own that has that kind of trading power? AWESOME!

That's pretty great! Is it a GV or THV????

The first half of Dec, Jan & March are easy to get in HH including DVC.

HHI in December is an easy trade either in RCI or II. Actually with a decent trader Mid November-End of March can get you one of the Marriott oceanfront resorts in II.

Saw a early August 2br DVC HHI unit with my N. Michigan week months ago, but I'm booked for the summer. One of my TS buddies from TUG grabbed it.

I also own a week at a non-DVC timeshare in Orlando (in addition to my DVC points). We were trying to sell it (to no avail), but after reading this, we're definitely going to hang onto it. It never occurred to me to use my week at VB, HHI or even GCV for that matter. What's odd, though, is we were always a 'week' at that timeshare...now RCI shows that resort as 'RCI Points'. Not sure if I now am points there or still my week and how that will work for trading to Disney's off-site resorts. Anyone know?

Generally, when an RCI Weeks resort switches to RCI Points it is a "sales opportunity." Existing owners are not automatically converted but may be offered a chance to convert to Points for a fee.

Try calling your Owner Services office to check status of your account?

As noted, you do not own points unless you pay to convert. The RCI fee is low but many resorts hold you up on their end for thousands of $$$.
