This weekend a family member suggested we sign up for AAA before we book our vacation. The membership would be around $80 for both my husband and I to sign up. If just I sign up it would be around $50.

I know that there are local discounts, but I don't think we would use it enough in a year to make up the membership fees on just the local ones. Does anyone know what savings a membership would have for a Disney vacation?

Nothing too significant. You may get some discounts on Disney vacation packages and a few dollars off on tickets and parking but that's about it.

My advice is, if you're considering joining AAA just for Disney benefits, it's not worth it.

I would check with a AAA travel agent. We have AAA since I always seem to lock my keys in my car of need a tow each year.:guilty: Definitely worth it then!

I have found that my agent was able to get me discounts especially back in the day when Disney didn't offer much. At least I got 10% off the room rate which saves at least $10 per day. Plus we got other little perks from AAA that I wouldn't buy, but did enjoy having. And if you ever travel the AAA rate should always be at least 10% off. Worth looking into!

Like a PP said, if you are doing it just for Disney...no. I have priced them twice compared to Disney website they were higher both times. And you don't get anything special off the park tickets. Undercover Tourist was much much cheaper on those also. If you book a package deal you get some extra freebies, like preferred parking (but we always use Disney transportation) and things like that.

I have AAA simply for the locked keys, run out of gas problems. Any additional benefits just make it more worth it. Like at Busch Gardens you get a 15% discount I think. And lots of places around my home. So it is worth it for me. But not for Disney related stuff.

  • 10%-20% room discount depending on season and the resort level. Not stackable with other discounts or promotions.
  • Small ticket discount depending on type of ticket. Better discounts available for no membership fee elsewhere.
  • No parking discount as previously alluded to. Instead, you get a AAA Diamond parking pass which allows you to park in a designated area at the theme park lots after paying the regular parking fee.
I have AAA for other reasons. I would not join it just for the Disney discounts.
