Saving trip momentos?

Hi everyone, I am thinking about making a memory frame type thing for my BF and my upcoming trip to DLR, and I am considering making a traditional scrapbook for his mom when we go to WDW next year. Anyway, I am a total scrapbooking newbie, so bear with me if this is a really dumb question.

I think it would be really cool to include fast passes in with ride photos and stuff like that. I know that they take your fast passes at the end of the FP line. Has anyone tried to keep theirs (while still getting to use them)? I am thinking I coud just ask the CM at the end of the line, but I don't really want to do that if it's not going to work!

In thinking about it, if they aren't currently enforcing FP return times, either the CM would have to trust that I wouldn't use it again or just tell me no, you can't keep the FP because you could use it again. I have no intention of abusing the system in this way, it just came up in my brain as I was pondering this..

Anyways, I did a little searching in this forum and couldn't come up with an answer to my question, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

Thanks!

ETA: In discussing it with my BF, he pointed out that we could always put un-used fast passes in there, so that is an option as well. I was just curious to see everyones thoughts!

I've asked to keep the FP's and most do say it's ok. I did have one CM trade me mine for ones that were already expired.
Just explain that you want to keep some for your scrapbook.
I've also kept unused FP's.

Oh, awesome! I really didn't think it would be a possibility!

Like Buffy said, there shouldn't be an issue asking a CM for expires FP tickies for scrapping, I've never had a problem.

Be on the look out for all kinds of things to save and possibly use in your scrapbook! If you are staying on property, items in your welcome package that you receive upon check in are great - like park pamphlets, resort activitiy sheet, map of the property. There are also paper coasters (for your water glasses usually found in moderate and deluxe resorts) in your room that are of the castle and say Walt Disney World on them. If you are staying at a Deluxe Resort - sometimes there is resort specific stationary and envelopes tucked away in a drawer. Even the liners in the bottom of the trash cans are resort specific (I've only seen this at the Deluxe hotels) - lots and lots of scrap treasures to be found for FREE :)

What I have also done is printing out the fast passes and then putting the KTTW cards back into the machine. It will spit out another non-valid fast pass, but it will have the ride logo and name on it that you could tuck behind a picture or something if you aren't worried about the actual info from the fast pass as much as the idea of the fast pass on your page.
Be on the lookout for the free stuff..maps, confetti on restaraunt tables etc.

I know we did what Jill suggested last time... the kids thought it was a hoot to get an "invalid" pass.. we did it on accident the first time... I thought the card I had hadn't been scanned but it had... that's what I get for allowing all 3 kids and DH to go with me to the fastpass distribution line... no more.. now I gather the tickets and tell them to go quietly wait on the other side for me!!
