Saving tips??

First of all, great choice on the hotel. I've stayed there a couple of times and have always enjoied it! About saving $, try packing some snacks in a waste-pouch. Try to only eat one "bigger meal" a day at the most. There are plenty of places at WDW where you don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy a nice meal! Will you be visiting all of the parks? There is something special to try in each one of them. Post which parks you will be visiting, that way we can help you out with some of the specifics.

This is a silly question maybe, but how do you go on a ride with a backpack? Haunted Mansion might be okay, but what about rides lie MGM's Aerosmith?

There are lockers at all of the park. If you have a young child with a stroller, just take your wallet and other valuables with you, and leave the backpack in the stroller. I have done this at every theme park in Florida, and never had anyone mess with it.

I wouldn't spend too much on buying souvies and light chasers, glow sticks, etc prior to the trip.

On our first trip with DS to DL, we went nuts buying all kinds of stuff before we even left home. DS wasn't interested in half of it. I had more fun with the lightchaser thing than DS did.

Even in the parks, the grandparents, parents, and uncle all wanted to buy DS soooo many souvies, but he wasn't even asking for any of them! It was us! We were all over the top, excited because it was DS' first trip to Disney.

We brought lots of snacks that DS wasn't that interested in either.

Basically we brought way too much stuff and spent too much money unnecessarily trying to "save" money in advance.

I would stick to a budget that you enforce with your kids and yourself.

On our second trip to DL last December, I cut back on the pre-trip buying. We brought less snacks. I budgeted for things I knew DS would like, such as having ice cream in the parks every day. Yes it's more expensive than buying it outside of Disney or buying a gallon and parking it in the hotel room freezer, but it was the experience and memories surrounding it that were really worth it. Plus now I have pictures of us eating ice cream every single day, and it reminds us all of how much fun we had eating together. :goodvibes

If the adults want to go wild, let them go to the outlets or WalMart.

Just my 2 cents... princess:

Have fun!

They are in rather small boxes. There are like 10 in each box.
I found the Crysat Light to go is whats its called and it dose have 10 pouches in a box. I love it it comes in several diffrent flavors even peach tea!! I bought some the other day to try and fell in love but DH hates!! it with a passion i would strongly suggest trying it before you bring all the way to WDW
