Do you retrieve seeds from favorite plants?

I have been doing this for awhile and am very satisfied when retrieval gives me future blooms. Very often it just entails getting the seed and spreading it elsewhere in the fall.

So far i have..

vineless morning glories
rose campion
cosmos
marigold
nastursiam

I save my zinnias every year. Just sprinkle them around in the spring and in no time they sprout. They look wonderful when they bloom.

99....I usually keep them in ziplocs and with a permanant marker write on the outside of the bag what kind they are.

Okay, I am going to sound really dumb but.... how to you GET the seeds?

Hi tuli...nice to see you.

When the seed pods are dry on the plant you can harvest them then or you can tie a little baggie around the seed pod so when they drop, they do it right in the baggie.

Thanks!!!! I got some carnation seeds from my moms house that I want to try and plant in the spring. I put them in a baggie but I wasn't sure if I needed to do something else!
