We are hoping to take a trip to WDW in June. Our kids at the time of the trip will be DD (12), DS (3), and DD (6 months). We are planning to stay offsite to save some money. I am hoping that we can do 5-6 days at the parks. I am leaning towards not doing the Park Hopper to save money since it's so expensive to that option on. I think we'd also do breakfast in the room and pack lunches/snacks. What are some other money saving tips and tricks you have? I'd love to hear them!

Are you flying or driving? If driving, I take along as much from home as I can. This way I can stock up when there are sales. I buy ponchos from Walmart and kids where fanny packs that they can keep their own snacks in. We always eat breakfast in the hotel as we are not big eaters right off in the am. Make sure you bring enough sunscreen and batteries. While you can buy both on property, you will spend an arm and a leg.

If you will eat a TS, eat it at lunch when the cost is cheaper.

Use coupons now and put the money you save in an envelope for vacation. Same thing for eating out-on a night you would go out, make something new at home and put the cost difference in the envelope.

Perhaps the budget board has more tips as well.

Great tips! Thank you :) We would be driving.. We only live about 8 hours from Orlando!

If you can book a value resort its not too expensive. You will save money on parking and gas. It is so much easier with little ones to stay on property:)

We are a family of 4 (ds7 & ds18 months), we are going in sept 2013 & opted to stay offsite as well. When pricing our room I priced 1 regular value room & then got a quote from vacation strategies for a 2 bedroom deluxe room @ bonnett creek. turned out that the room @ bonnet creek was cheaper and much bigger! To me disney rooms are too pricey for the standard hotel layout. Bonnet creek includes full kitchen, laundry & 2 bathrooms; we plan on eating most breakfasts in the room before heading to the parks and then mostly quick service for lunch, dinner will either be outside the park or cooked in the room.
I found that the cost of buying tickets & paying regular price for our room to get free dining would end up costing us more than we would like.
Plus we are a go with the flow family when it comes to eating, so having to mark adr's so early and plan around them wouldn't be a fun vacation for us.

Good luck planning
