For anyone who was in the Park today, did you see any filming and if so, how did it look?

They had it all roped off. All we could see were extras.

Yes, filming most of the day. Fantasyland was closed for a v long time, resulting in some really sad kids in my family who couldn't go on the rides they wanted. I'm pretty disappointed in how disruptive it was.

Welcome to Hollywood filmmaking. Location shooting is ALWAYS disruptive. Streets closed, buildings and malls closed, theme park lands closed. It happens everytime they make a movie. You either roll with it or protest Hollywood to stop filming. I prefer to roll with it.

i remember being there around this time last year in november while they filmed the ABC Christmas Special it was neat to watch but they had closed off most Fantasy Land

Yep, I understand. But picture this: a family that had scrimped and saved for several years for their first trip to Disneyland (even as an adult, my very first trip) and 5 year old twins who couldn't understand why the rides they wanted to go on were closed. For kids that age there aren't many choices. Toontown was overrun, as you can imagine. it's our misfortune to choose this time to be at DL and it makes me a little sad. Trying to roll with it.

Those are great pictures, love the extras coming down the street!
It will be interesting to see the final product and how they make DL look like it did during the time the movie was set.

Was there any kind of advanced notice about this? It would have been really cool for Disney to offer people some kind of "rain check" to come back another day. We were there one year when it was raining pretty heavily, and the park had to close early. They gave us all each a free ticket for admission at another time (no expiration).
I feel for you, there are limited options for the little ones.

Yes, there were signs at the entrance several days in advance. There were announcements in the media. There was advance notice given. It was not an unannounced happening.

It was VERY short advance notice. Disney didn't state in on their website until last week. For anyone flying or in need of any advance planning it was way too late. We're here now and this was a VERY quick planned trip-like 2 weeks and I wouldn't have booked this week if I would have known before I booked plane tix. We had to change our plans and park days once we got here, which still isn't ideal, and then on top of the Disneyland stuff RSR ended up not being open until noon yesterday which made it such a mess. We're hoping to have better luck as the week keeps going.

Right. Announced 2 weeks ago. Flights purchased, rooms reserved, time off requested several months ago. Can't change that stuff 2 weeks before the trip. I am going to write a letter giving feedback.

I agree that it was very frustrating. We were at the parks Sunday through Tuesday. Due to concert filming Fantasyland was closed part of Sunday. It was then closed on Tuesday. Luckily a cast member gave us a pass so we could do Peter Pan with our daughter. Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten to do it. She is 16 months old and the line was always too long a wait for her.

We did EMH at DL on Tuesday and they were filming on Main Street and then FL. For EMH/MM they took us all through the narrow alleyway behind the Main Street stores all the way to the hub. Then we couldn't go through the castle, we had to go around by Alice and Teacups to get into Fantasyland the back way. We did Peter Pan and saw them bringing those huge filming lights into the area. Did Mr. Toad and more activity was going on. We just got Pinocchio done and they were pushing more into FL and pushing people out. So it wasn't even open for all of EMH/MM.

On Wednesday morning they were filming in the front of DL park so they wouldn't let anyone through bag check into the ticket booths/plaza area. A little before EMH started for DCA they started letting people through bag check.

W were also there..just Fantasyland roped off for two days and then of course the mess of the Christmas Parade and Backstreet Boys the day before. So really..3 of our five days had large disruptions going on. Still..although it seemed crowded with people lines for rides were not bad except for Fantasyland after it reopened on Thursday. The only thing I saw was equipment and large groups of folks in period dress being moved around.
