I've had Sam's Club codes with Alamo for a mid-size rental for a week @ $170.44 booked for over six months and have been checking off and on all summer (and it's always been much higher) - just checked again tonight and saved almost $40. I booked the new rate and cancelled the original reservation. But I'm a little nervous - have seen a few posts about problems with Alamo. I guess I'll just bite my lip and go for it. (If they give me any problems, I'll just sic my daughter on them - she's the "take no prisoner" type!)

You should not have a problem. Just remember, they are getting tricky about insurance. They will ask you questions like: do you want the deluxe insurance or the regular. Your response to any insurance question should be " I don't want ANY insurance", and read everything they want you to initial and don't initial it if you don't understand it. Unless, you want insurance.
They will give you a printout of your charges, make sure it matches your reservation total (make sure to bring a copy with you). The majority of the time it will. You will be paying at the time of pickup, so, don't leave if it does not match. All agencies make errors from time to time, it is not just Alamo.

I agree with Gail. We have used Alamo and they are fine. You just have to be firm and say no insurance. ;)

Hey off2disney share your info, what new code did you use.

GAIL HAYDEN- had my 8 yr old DS sitting on my lap while I check out some posts and he screams, "hey look it's Tony Hawk", in your photos and he wants to know if he's your 1) husband, 2)son, or 3) a friend. Sandra

Oh, how cute!!!! Tell DS that he is none of the above, he is just someone I met and had my picture taken with. It would not be bad to have him as my son, he would be way to young to be my husband and I don't know him well enough to call friend. Give DS a hug for me. :)

If you are a sam's club member all that info is out on the web site.
If you need help, pm me.

PM me and I'll give you my codes - but I also had a coupon for $15 off (which they told me I had to present at the time of pickup) -- and to present my Sam's Club ID card. It even includes an additional driver at no additional charge -- that was a $30.00 savings right there.

Actually it is a 50.00 savings. 15.00 for the coupon and 35.00 (7x5 per day) = 50.00
