I'm so glad I check Southwest's website every day. Today I saw that they had added a late flight on our departure day. By booking it, I got a $42 credit and added 5 1/2 hours of park time to our last day! Whoo hoo!!:banana::banana:

Excellent! Thta's what I'm hoping for- right now, SW doesn't have any later flights on my departure day...

I have been checking the SW site for 6 weeks or so - EVERY day, at times several times a day, and have the "Ding" installed on my computer also. The price I have been seeing for our flights from Providence to MCO have been at a steady $135 each way ($270 RT). I have not booked as I was holding out and hoping for a tad better based on when I purchased our tickets for last year.

Last April, I was able to score RT flights (for June and Aug) for $220 - and purchased those tix on April 7th. I checked just yesterday in the a.m., and sure enough still $135. Then I checked again in the evening, and the prices actually went UP by 5 dollars ! I can't believe this ! I was finally going to "bite the bullet" and book our flights today (being a Tuesday, perhaps the prices would go down slightly again), and now if I book, I'll have to fork over another $40 for the 4 of us. :confused3

Basically for the 4 of us to fly down this year, for the same times/dates, it will cost $200 more than last year - or $240 since the price per ticket just went up. Today is a sad day for me:sad1:

Don't get me started on the price of car rentals for this trip ...but last year I paid $170 for a Ford Escape, 1 week, extra driver included - and that was with taxes and fees, etc. The same class right now is @$500. No way, I say

flights out of Hartford CT? DH, DGS & I are flying down in early May. Booked with points ($5.00 each R/T!!!) in Feb @ what would have been $114 each way per person. Our return trip went down TWICE last week, rebooked both times for a total savings of $31 per person (1860 in points each returned to my acct). We are now at $197 (11,820 points) pp R/T plus the $5.00 in taxes. You're right. You must check EVERY DAY! Good luck and don't give up!!
