Just thought I would let you know of a potential way to save some money if interested.

I had to pay the balance of our holiday last week  which wasn't cheap as we are staying at AKL and Wilderness Lodge as a treat and figured there must be a way to benefit from parting with my hard earned.

I worked out from shopping around that Thomas Cook charge 2% for a credit card payment, capped at £50, however American Express will give you 3% cash back at the moment for new customers on certain credit cards. Net saving of £90 for us:cool1:

Obviously we will clear the CC bill as soon as it comes in only drawback is I have to wait 12 months for the £90 to be credited to my AMEX account...oh well, can't have everything!

If you want to save more money any holidays booked online they should be booked through a cash rebate website.
eg. Thomas Cook package booked through UK's 2 most popular sites would give you savings of:
3% at Quidco http://www.quidco.com/thomas-cook/
2% at Rpoints http://www.rpoints.com/home/

I personally prefer rpoints no annual fee (Quidco £5) and a lot faster with payment, great forum on Rpoints also that saves me a fortune, although Quidco do offer a lot more cashback. Recently bought a mobile got £50 thru Quidco, Rpoints only offered £16 with the same company.

We've been using Amex for ages for their cash back we also have a Morgan Stanley cash back card too, we always pay it off in full and have a Direct debit set up to do that for us. We might as well get some money back from these big companies. :thumbsup2
