Save TONS on eBay with this auction!

Probably someone who collects Disney Dollars..

I sold some older ones last year for quite a bit more than their face value.. Actually, now that I think of it, I still have some older ones I could put up for auction.. ;)

CheapMom: You are making me regret using up my DD while there!!!!

In other words, explain to the bidder that he/she is bidding on something worth $42 and not a penny more
**************

Of course you wouldn't do that, since it would be auction interference, and they'll go on and you'll be suspended LOL.

I just picked up $60 for the 3 grands (I'm going to pad them and put them in a checkbook cover for a gift..doesn't hurt the bills, but makes it fun to use them) at guest services (they had to scramble to get them, since they only have $25 in each drawer, she said). Now, I wonder if I should sell them and give them more American dollars LOL. I also got them all vouchers for our trip...I thought about selling them too, and giving them more value LOL.

Of course. Certainly wasn't suggesting that anyone actually DO that.

Just to be clear, I don't think the seller did anything wrong at all. The auction stated very clearly what was being sold and what it was worth.

I HAVE sold Disney Dollars for more than face value, but they were mint uncirculated bills in protective holders and were no longer available versions. I am a collectibles dealer and sold them as collectibles. Unless you are a collector (or something, not necessarily Disney stuff), you may not understand the world of collecting. Us crazy folk will often pay what may seem like insane prices to acquire that special item we need to fill a gap in our collection.

DMRick - how/where are you going to pad them? What a cool idea! :cool1:

I have a padding machine my hubby made, and also some of the cheaper ones..they look like two long pieces of plastic with screws on the end. I'll put a piece of chipboard (the stuff at the back of pads) together with some bills, put in the padder, tighten it tight (you can use hubby's vice, bricks, etc) and while I'll use padding glue, you can use Elmer's glue. Then once it dries, I'll put them in a checkbook folder. If I remember, I'll post a picture when I get them done. The kids love peeling them off one by one. I often do it with "real" dollars.

That is cool DMRick-
I think am going to start collecting and saving these disney dollars and selling them 5-10 years later. Better return then the stock market and lower risk. Unless Disney goes under they will always at least be worth face value!

After seeing this thread I had to go back and look at my old Disney Dollars. I have some from 1987, which I believe was the first year they were available, and from 2001 and WDW's 25th anniversary.

I know I have some (don't think it's much though) stuffed in the back of a photo album from our 1995 trip. (Same year as that $120+ auction!) You can bet I'm going to take a look at those when I get home.

Boy if you could get that return on investment every time at the end of each trip I'd buy a 100 bucks or so to pay for a trip 5 years down the line.
