I am getting married 12/4 of this year and just sent my save the dates out at the 6 month mark. I will send a newsletter with more planning details in the next 2 weeks, then a final schedule a month or so before the wedding.

My family is coming from all over (mostly Midwest) and we've only been engaged since April so it's all coming together quickly. I wanted to let my guests know as soon as we picked a date! There is no such thing as too early for a destination wedding!

i am getting married on 1/3/10 and we had disney send the save the dates 2 months ago. i am sending out my inviations next week and have the RSVP by august 1 so this way we know who is coming way in advance. being it is a destination wedding, i feel the earlier the better so you can plan what needs to be planned and make sure people schedule their flights and hotels. i don't think there is a wrong time to send them since it is a different kind of wedding and people have to travel. hope this helps.
