Afternoon all!

So, I remember a thread on here a long time ago about footwear at DLP. So I thought I'd post a thread for tips and suggestions on how to 'Save our feet' during visits to DLP!

I find that I get a blister or two where my shoes rub (little toe is one of them) but I also find that my feet ache like mad when standing still (the walking isn't so much a problem!).

I have bought myself (and have broken in) some Sketchers Go Walks with memory foam to try on my trip later this month, as these were highly recommended on the old thread.

Does anyone else have any tips, tricks or recommendations on how YOU 'save your feet' on a multiple day visit to DLP? Lets share!

I don't go to DLP these days without either walking boots or walking sandals (weather dependant). Even then, in my walking boots I need blister plasters too (but I put them on the second I feel any part of my foot rubbing against my boot).

I found for both Disneyland California in June and my trip to DLP last week my worn in Sketchers runners were the most comfortable during the day. I did 2 12 hour days in the parks last week and yes my feet did ache bad by the time I eventually got to my room, they were fine the next morning, no blisters. I have a bath each night , soak my feet and use a foot file to massage the aches away.

We used Go Walks at WDW last year - still ended up with blisters but to be fair the walking is so much further there! Blister plasters are amazing things! I also bought and took walking sandals which again, I got blisters on the bottom of my little toes (these were well worn in before our holiday and I'd had no problems - even doing a few miles walks in them!). I think a lot of it was down to the heat and feet rubbing etc. I ended up wearing my trainers and socks a fair few days and probably found these the best tbh.

I've never had many problems at DLRP with my feet - they've been sore/aching but never blistered. Uggs are great if waterproof (I have a black nubuck waterproof pair) - if I were going autumn/winter I'd take those. I'd probably take walking sandals and trainers if spring/summer.

But after all that, I really don't think you can beat a pair of well worn-in gym trainers and trainer socks!

I wear an old pair of Vans and put fabric plasters on the back of my ankle where the shoe ends and on the balls of my feet (I work in retail and this really helps!).
Then I put heel magic on my heel and the balls of my feet before bed to soften them to make sure they don't hurt the next day from all the walking.

I wear either trainers - proper running ones, with lots of cushioning. Or Ecco walking shoes (trainer-style). I never get blisters at DLP, but my feet certainly ache in the evening. A good foot rub and lotion help.

I have Go Walks and they are awesome......but I go next weekend and they're going to look incredubly weird in cold weather with socks under.

Thinking I will take them though as it's out longest trip yet and if it gets to day 4 and both my other pairs of shoes have rubbed I'm sure I won't care so much about fashion.

Also taking leather boots which are SO comfy, I wear them most days, and my Minnie Mouse Vans.

Crocs in summer and NB trainers the rest of the time. Can't wear Go Walks as I have very high arches and they don't give me enough support.

I've also been advised to take Compeed Blister plasters as apparently when you get a blister, these are a god send! I've picked some up and wilol be trying them in just under 2 weeks!

Compeed Blister Plasters for if a blister develops, but to prevent blisters use Moleskin on the areas you know might rub, or if they've rubbed but not blistered yet. You can buy a roll and cut to size.

As my trips have been mainly in the summer, I alternate between a pair of supportive Clarks sandals and a pair of worn-in but still supportive trainers.

I usually wear Uggs in the winter months - we usually go in March. Go Walks for the summer - I'm going to get a new pair this weekend actually ready for my June trip (give me time to wear them in a bit!)

I can't handle full shoes when it's so warm out! However, I do also need a really good pair of shoes for Disney World. I have a pair of Merrell Terran Lattice II sandals that I wear the whole time I'm there. The best part about these is that I don't get any blisters (as there aren't near as many places on them to rub you as a full pair of shoes) and they still have a very good cushion and support in them. Just did a week in Disney with these in November with no problems!

After a disastrous trip in October 2014, my plantar fascitis flared up and we spent most of the trip in the hotel I decided to try Skechers Go Walks. I have probably a pair of shoes by every other orthotic brand out there and Skechers are most definitely the best I have 3 pairs of Go Walks now and the boots (although they 're not as good for my problems) but I can wear them in the winter lol. Used my Apple watch last Summer and we averaged 10-12 miles every day thanks to my Skechers

WDW regular August (hot!) visitor here due on my first DLR Paris trip in one week! Well worn in trainers is the answers. I've done Crocs, Sketchers and other specialist shoes but several trips in cracked the code. Had to throw away my favourite trainers two trips ago they were utterly battered but knackered worn in trainers is for sure the way to save your feet.

Gore Tex is my must have as I dread sodden feet and even showers quickly create puddles at DLP. I always take a pair of Gore Tex walking shoes (Clarks or The North Face) and in winter have knee high Gore Tex leather boots too. I walk miles (often to Magny or Serris as well as around the parks) and also use Sketchers or deck shoes if it's dry, all well worn in and very comfortable.

cdsmiller - indeed Compeed blister plasters are the best thing ever invented (slight exaggeration but you get my drift!). We bought a few packs of those and some 'cheaper' ones for WDW and the cheaper ones were inferior. The Compeed ones were amazing - honestly, once you had them on, you didn't even know you had a blister as they kind of cushion it - and they stay on! Even in pools/water etc.
