I am booked for a Savannah view room at AKV Kidani. I have only stayed in a Savannah once in my 8 - 10 stays there. Last time I stayed on the 2nd floor. A CM once told me that the higher the floor the better the view. I asked why and he said you can see more of the trees and Jambo House depending on where your room is. I care more about the animals than trees. :) Personal preference thing, really.

Anyhow, for those of you who have stayed both on the 2nd floor and 4th floor, what is your preference and why (aside from not having anybody in the room above you)?

The worst thing about DVC at Jambo is that the rooms are all on the 5th and 6th floor and you can't be lower.

That CM apparently liked trees and buildings more than animals. I'd request the lower floor although I've haven't been on the 2nd floor. I think the lowest was 3rd.

This is literally a matter of perspective. It is true that the higher you are, the more you can see. That said, what do you want to see? If you want a chance to see the animals a bit closer, then lower is better. However, if you want the opportunity to see more, and perhaps animals at a distance, higher will serve you.

Right, that part was obvious. :P :)

I think my wording was just not clear. (my bad) I guess I should have asked it like this: from the 4th floor, is the view more of tree tops and less animal spotting or can you see more of the animals from the 4th floor balconies than the 2nd floor balconies.

I did Google/Bing photos, but most people who have their photos posted do not mention where their room is.

I think perhaps the better thing to do is be surprised. :)

One advantage (to me. at least) is that on the lower floors you can actually hear the clip-clop of the animal's feet as they go by. Having stayed at Jambo, where all rooms are on the fifth floor (no clip-clop noise), I thought that was so cool when I visited Kidani. My only problem was that when I stayed at Kidani and requested a room on the lower floor, and also requested close to lobby, I got lower floor, but way the heck out there, almost at the end of the resort. From there that clip-clop noise kind of lost its appeal to me.

You can see animals on the 4th floor, just not as well as on the 3rd and 2nd, but better than on the 5th. The animals will rest under the trees especially on hot days which is probably ¾ of the year at WDW.

Some people have all the luck! :) Staying by the lobby is HORRIBLE. It is loud!! I would rather have the long trek down the hall and get a quiet night's sleep instead of being by the lobby. Eeek!!!
I think if you want drink refills often, you might not like that much, though.
