We can start a Thoughts and Prayers thread and not discuss the matter/ give theories. I am also open to offering my prayers for sure. It's a terrible situation.

It's fine. I'm pretty sure the family isn't reading here on the DIS.

It looks like there is a 700+ page thread about this case there. Lots of diving into the weeds, good place for it.

Meanwhile, no suspects, no person of interest, I'm just hoping there is a break in this case and Mrs. Guthrie is let go.

we just have to be patient. I think there is so much going on behind the scenes that we don't know. I have faith that the investigators know what they are doing and that they are much further along than it seems.

I thought I read that the family has until 5pm tonight to pay the ransom. Not sure what happens at that point, but I sure hope the family gets some answers.

You know, I was thinking (maybe just wishful thinking) but maybe that last message was intentionally staged; maybe hoping whomever really has her thinks another copycat ransom note was taken as real and possibly to motivate the actual capture to reach out again confirming they have her/giving some kind of proof of life). Like I said probably just wishful thinking, but it did cross my mind.

Interesting; I'm wondering if it took this long to get the video for some reason or if they didn't feel it was best to release until now. This should be able to eliminate or confirm known "suspects". Does the sister (husband was possibly suspected in beginning) have any adult children? I would assume they would've already ruled them out, but something I thought of earlier.

According to multiple reports, Mrs. Guthrie didn't subscribe to the door video service. It has taken time to retrieve the video using other (not as easy) means.

I don't believe the son-in-law was ever a "suspect" other than all family members had to be ruled out. Pointing a finger at him due to his vehicle being inspected was a really bad rumor that got started.

Obviously that video is the person front and center but potentially knowing where they came from, where they headed, did they wear their mask the whole time or just put it on before getting right to the door, etc.

It also was an old school ski mask like something someone would associate with something they saw on a movie or tv show or what was used many years ago not something like a neck gaiter which seems to be more commonly used these days.

That's very true, the build of someone including height as well as how their movements are should normally be pretty easy to tell if you were close to someone.

I wish that backpack could be more easily identified, sometimes people have more unique backpacks and it becomes easier to potentially track down a purchase if indeed it was purchased recently enough.

Edited: Whoops! A ring camera was not used. It states it at the top of the photos it was a Nest camera.

That's not a "normal" head covering that someone in Tucson would generally have for their weather. Either he skis a lot to have already have it on hand, or he bought it for this. It looks new. I wonder if the FBI is trying to track down places that sell head coverings like that, in case the guy used a credit card and is on store cameras where they can clearly see his face.
