sausage in the crock pot.... ?

I need some help here - I just put spaghetti sauce and raw cut up sausage in the crock pot for supper tonight.... then I thought to myself after I put the sausage in - "shouldn't I have cooked that first?"
Can someone tell me if I need to throw it out and start over? Or will it be okay to eat cooking it on high for about 4-5 hours??
I feel stupid :blush:

If I had to guess, I'd say it should be fine. Just make sure it is cooked all the way through before serving. You don't precook anything else before putting it in your crock pot so you shouldn't need to precook the sausage. If you cut it up, it should cook through just fine.
 
I think it should be fine...you ARE cooking it...just slowly.
 
It will be fine! Just be prepared that your sauce will be much greasier than usual since you didn't cook off the grease first. I did this same exact thing just 2 weeks ago and I didn't even cut up my sausage (hot). I just had to scoop some of the grease off the top before serving.

It will be good - don't worry!
 

Yes, 4 to 5 hours on high will be fine, it just might not taste the way you want. Sometimes when you don't sear it kit looses something.
