Hi I keep reading that Saturdays are very busy everywhere. Are there any parks/other attractions that are better visited on a Saturday or any that should absolutely be avoided? Thanks Jo (we will be there the last 2 1/2 weeks of August.)

if you look on the unofficial guides touring plans website under the crowd calendar they will show you their guestimate for crowds in the four WDW theme parks. You only get one month shown for free and currently this is showing mid July to mid August so you may get your information there. Hopefully this link will work :goodvibes:

From what I've read and experienced, definitely avoid MK on a Saturday. I wouldn't want to judge on the others but if I had to pick one to go to on a Saturday, I'd choose AK :-)

At that time of year I'd look to do a slower day - Discovery Cove,a water park, shopping etc on a Saturday. If you go during peak season, Saturdays are just as (horrifically) busy as every other day.

Orlando Informer has a great crowd calendar for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure - short of special events, you could sensibly assume that crowd levels at Disney will be similar. Just google "Orlando Informer crowd calendar" to see the August dates & crowd levels.

If you are planning a rest day at the resort/pool a Saturday may be ideal for you to do this.

discovery cove is a saturday park as attendance is capped

Thanks, we had ruled out discovery cove for this visit but may have another look. :goodvibes

Thanks for the link, the first Saturday we plan to be there next year is covered and it actually looks like all the parks will be manageable apart from MK. :goodvibes

Thanks - I was thinking maybe AK or maybe Kennedy space centre if we decide to visit there but thought I would ask your opinions first. :goodvibes

Thanks - I've bookmarked the site for reference. It looks good :goodvibes Will think about maybe doing a water park that day.

Thanks, not sure we are going to do any complete rest days - would you recommend we did? I'm thinking we will have swim/rest time most afternoons but not sure whether to plan any complete days - we would normally be on the go all day every day on holiday but obviously won't be used to the heat and humidity.

Do you plan on doing rope drop because if you do, every park is generally the same apart from the one with early EMH as you will be ahead of the crowd all day. Getting up early is your biggest advantage to avoiding crowds, much more so than choosing a quieter/ busier park. Not withstanding the effect of any special events of course.

we go to the parks every day, including saturday.
we just avoid MK on saturday and any park that has EMH

Pre dis:rotfl: we would visit any park upon any day.
Never once had a bad time.

Too much planning can make you crazy-just enjoy.
Btw-I love to plan:lmao:

How about a game of mini golf? We did Fantasia last year and it was fun!
Or Monorail resort hop!

Thanks we are intending to do rope drop and to do some of the parks with early EMH but also plan on leaving the park around lunchtime to swim/rest for the afternoon so the girls can stay up a bit later in the evening. :goodvibes

Lovely thanks I think we will plan to do something everyday - we can always change our mind if we are too tired. :) We will definitely avoid MK on Saturdays.

I love crazy planning - in our house plans aren't good enough unless I have lists of my list. :rotfl:

I agree - any park apart from MK is usually fine.

You could always have a resort day if crowds bother you :)

Thanks - we don't generally let crowds bother us but might as well try to avoid them if possible. :goodvibes

Thanks, I hadn't thought about mini golf. I will add it to the list of things to look into. :)
