Anal planner needs advice from other anal planners.
Our family reunion trip will be this June from the 4th to the 13th. During our stay, Spectromagic is only running on both Saturday's and on Tuesday. We are going to Mick's Backyard BBQ on that Tuesday so that leaves the 2 Saturdays to see Spectro.
Saturday June 4th we had planned on Disney Studios to avoid the Gay Days at MK and the next Saturday the MK will likely be more crowded.
We will have hoppers and likely will head over to MK in the afternoon to catch Spectro on one of the Saturdays. Which Saturday evening would you rather venture into MK to watch Spectro, June 5th (Gaydays) or June 12 (likely more crowded)??
Thanks,

Bill

Bill, until you made mention of it. I didn't realize Spectromagic wasn't showing on June 4th. Thank you!! This has happened to us previous trips, so what we do is plan a day at another park and then hop over to MK Sat. for Spectro. I would vote for Sat. June 5th, just because the park is open til 11:00. You and your family could watch Spectro and then catch a couple of rides, while everyone else is watching Wishes.
So I think we will keep our plans for MK on Friday June 4th and AK on Saturday June 5th open til 6:00. After AK, closes we can go off-site and get a bite to eat, freshen up and head over to MK for Spectro and then catch some extra rides. I hope all works out for you and thanks again for the insite that I had completly missed!! Have a great trip. How many people for your family reunion is going with for the trip?

Yeah i think we will hop over on the 5th as well. At least that way we make sure we get to see it. If we wait till the last day it will likely rain with our luck (still having flashbacks to the rainy June 2002 trip).
This year there is going to be 22 of us. 14 adults and 8 kids.

Just remember that Saturday, June 5th is Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom - This day will be very crowded with us that are gay. Some people rather not have to deal with it - so I thought I'd fill ya in.

Sinboy is right - MK will be very, very crowded on Saturday, June 5 due to Gay Days. For that reason, I'd go with June 12. You are right in that normally the crowds just get bigger as you go through June, but Gay Days is the exception to that rule.

Holy Cow!! (just thought I'd give you a thumbs up for doing more than your share of helping WDW fill up to capacity)

Dang - so many variables to planning. I think our plan is going to be .. just go with the flow and see what we can see when we can see it. We might miss a parade or two - but we will still see some great stuff!

The following is the actual Gay Day Schedule so you know exactly where the "Bigger Crowds" will be during this time:

Wednesday June 2nd - Pleasure Island - 7pm-2am
Thursday June 3rd - Animal Kingdom - 9am-6pm
Thursday June 3rd - Pleasure Island - 7pm-2am
Friday June 4th - MGM - 9am-9pm
Friday June 4th - Pleasure Island 7pm-2am
Saturday June 5th - "GAY DAY" - Magic Kingdom - 9am-11pm
Saturday June 5th - Pleasure Island 7pm-2am
Sunday June 6th - Epcot - 9am-9pm
Sunday June 6th - Pleasure Island - 7pm-2am

Hope that helps!

If it were up to me....I would see if I could switch the BBQ....they have it on Thursdays too, don't they??
If that is not a possibility.......
Then I would try to see Spectro on June 5th.
The other thing that may help lessen the crowds on the 5th is that the 5th and 6th are the last days for the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.
I just don't think I would wait for the last night to try and see it, like another poster said...it might rain.

Thanks sinboy for the schedule....
We are arriving on the 4th and we were trying to decide what to hit the first night.....
Looks like Epcot on Friday and MGM on Saturday.
:p

The June hours are subject to change, and so are the scheduled parades. Keep checking the hours, they may add more Spectro showings.

I think we will attempt to hop over to MK in the evening and just stake out a spot on Main street, have some ice cream, maybe some fudge, get my 1 year old her first set of Minnie Ears, watch Spectro and then Wishes.
Thanks again,
Bill
