Satu'li Canteen questions

Well that will be good for my 9 yo niece. I'm kind of upset that she has to be on the kid's dining plan. She isn't a small 9 yo and doesn't eat like she's a kid either.
Does she have to be on the kids plan? Pretty sure you can upgrade to the adult dining plan if you want to (paying the extra cost, of course)

Do you know how much more it is to upgrade? I didn't know you could do that. I thought if they were 9 and under they had to be on the kid's plan.

Maybe someone in the know can chime in .... but just a thought ... if you upgrade a child to an adult dining plan will it trigger an upgrade to an adult park ticket? Been awhile it might not be much ...

It should be whatever the normal price difference is. You can find that on Disney’s site.

I don’t know if it would affect park tickets. You’d have to ask on that. You should call Disney and ask about it!

I'm going to attempt to do it online through chat because I hate calling. I'm not sure if I will get correct information, but it's worth a try. Thanks!

Google tells me you can only do it if you’re also buying adult tickets (effectively misrepresenting her age). If you’re doing free dining it may be worth it, but OOP it would be more.

We aren't doing free dining. We are going in February and using the PSD package. I don't think I want to change it if I have to change her tickets as well.

Still worth asking, but it may make more sense to let her order an appetizer in addition to her meal, and just pay OOP for it.

The CM just told me she can't change to an adult plan. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it works for me. Seems like a hassle trying to change her to a different plan. I think she should be fine because she gets 2 snacks per day and a dessert with the TS meal.

Just to clarify, that is only done if the child is 10+ and using an adult credit.

If she is using a child's credit, she gets a child's portion.

Yeah she will be getting the child portion and will just have to deal with it. We are paying for her whole trip so I guess if she gets hungry her mom can buy her something extra. I would think with 2 snacks she would be alright.

If we use mobile ordering for Satu'li, is there a place to request the sauces be served on the side? (Sorry if that's a silly question; we haven't experienced mobile order yet, but are hoping to use it frequently on our trip next month.)

Yes, you can request the sauces on the side with mobile ordering. You just enter everything you want in the bowl (including sauce), and then at the bottom, there is a "Customize Your Selection" arrow and you can request sauce on the side.

FYI - you can check out mobile ordering on the app even if you're not at the park. I did it before my vacation, just to get an idea of what I needed to do. It's super easy, and so convenient!

Thanks, great tip!

Thanks for that tip - we are going next year so it will be good for us to get familiar with the process before we have to do it for real!

How do they keep people from sitting without food? We'll order ahead so how does it work?

You have to have the food in your hands before you can choose a table.
I actually really like this and didn't know that it was a thing. I don't like when people take up tables when they aren't even eating. It's difficult to balance a plate if you have to sit on a curb.

I like it, too. I think it makes it fairer for all.

I have seen them do this at very busy times of year at other locations. But both times we ate at Satu'li there no one was keeping you from getting a table while you waited to be notified your food was ready.

When we used mobile ordering at Cosmic Rays, as we entered the CM even said to us "If you want to use mobile ordering, go ahead and find your table and place your order" ... which we did. We actually spotted someone in line, so as to compare. We had our food on our table before they had even ordered.
