We are only at AK one day and the menu for Satu'li looks really good. However, we have ADR's for Yak and Yeti TS and wondering if we should keep it or just do the Satu'li QS and another TS a different time in the vacation.

Can someone elaborate on the cheeseburger pod?

In part, I have no-love for Yak & Yeti because I know too much about authentic Chinese food and have, therefore, found myself disappointed at Yak & Yeti. But it is better than most of the Asian-cuisine that can be found outside but a few select cities in the U.S. Thematically, one of the best restaurants at Disney.

We have yet to visit Pandora, but a Cheeseburger Pod is Disney's description of a steamed-bread filled with 'cheeseburger'; pod is a synonym for 'bao'. This is a variation on a very common product at Chinese dim sum parlors (that make a fabulous snack/breakfast with hot tea). I'll let experts give you a better idea:

I loved Satu'li Canteen. It's the only quick service that I cannot wait to go back and have again. And I'm very fond of TS meals. 100% go to Satu'li Canteen.

Our entire party agreed that the cheeseburger pod tastes like a Krystal but not as greasy. It was just ok. I thought it had too much bun and not enough filling. The bowls are pretty good though - we've had both the chicken and steak and agreed the chicken was best. I got it with rice and chimichurri sauce.

Yak & Yeti is good, but nothing unique. You could definitely have a better TS meal elsewhere.

We ate at Satuli last week and loved it. Granted, it was breakfast, but it was tasty, cheap for what you got, and quiet in there.

I have not eaten at Yak n Yeti so no opinion on that, but I have eaten at Satu'li.

The cheeseburger pod - meh. The bowl, however, was excellent. I had the steak with creamy sauce over the quinoa and greens and DH had the chicken with the same options as mine.

We both enjoyed our meals and my husband still talks about the blue dessert. It tasted okay but visually it was gorgeous!

They are 2 of our top places to eat in all of Disney.
So that is a tough choice.
DH would be inclined to pick Yak and Yeti. He wouldn't be able to pass up their Burger. And I have to admit, I do love their Ahi Tuna Nachos. More than one should be in love with Nachos ;)
But, I also love Satu'li. Their Tofu bowl with the sweet potato hash and vinaigrette was wonderful. I will be having this again. And again. I may not be able to do any other combo. Breakfast was equally as good.

No help on the Pod, we didn't try one.

We haven't done Satu'il yet, though the reviews are all really good. That said, I'd pick TS over QS any day of the week and Yak and Yeti is one of the best. I'd much prefer sitting down to a quiet meal and eating higher quality food than dealing with the chaos that can be a quick service. Plus, cream cheese wontons. No brainer :-)

We love Udon noodles and Yak and Yeti have that. Not that we can't get that at home so it's not a deal breaker. I wish we were doing park hopper since we will be staying at AKL and would love to be able to eat at both.

Satuli is AMAZING. Much better than Yak and Yeti.

Cheeseburger bun is like a steamed bun with cheeseburger flavors. Very good!

Those are two of my favorite restaurants in AK! If you are going when it's warm, you may want to do yak and yeti. About half of satuli canteens seating is outdoors, and it can be difficult sometimes to find a table indoors in the air conditioning. Satuli canteen is amazing, but it is quick service. It will not be the same experience as dinner at yak and yeti. But the food at both is incredible! I really don't think you can go wrong! Enjoy!

If you like a bargain, sign up for the Landry's Select Club and choose a birthday in the same month of your trip.

You pay $25, but you get that back immediately and you get another $25 for your birthday, so $50 to spend at Yak & Yeti or Rainforest Cafe. Your club membership gets you immediate seating at any Landry's restaurant, plus Emails with offers for local Landry's.

Krystal are like White Castle burgers to some of us.

And that makes sense - these are 'steamed' hamburgers.

My vote is for Yak and Yeti! We love it! Love to have a nice break in the early afternoon to sit and enjoy a nice sit down lunch. The decor is so beautiful and everything we have gotten has been delish! We really love the house friend rice and the honey chicken!

They have a great drink menu too!:cloud9:

I want to try the cream cheese won ton desert when there in October!

We just did this on August 9th and it was AMAZING!! $50 off the meal (and I bought the card so long ago it felt like a whole $50 off!:cool2:), we were sat in about 30 seconds with a lobby jam packed full of well over 20 people, and the manager came by not once but twice to make sure everything was satisfactory! They really made us feel like we were a part of a club! We joked about it the rest of the trip, that I was going to whip out my Landry's Club card everywhere we went! :rotfl:

I had to make this same decision my trip last month. I really wanted to try Y&Y, had been wanting to go there for years. But looking at the menu for Satuli, I had to go. I think I made the right decision. I ordered the beef bowl with creamy dressing and quinoa salad. It was delicious and not over filling. I liked the restaurant itself, too. I've read a lot of complaints about the cafeteria feel, but I enjoyed the atmosphere personally. And the blueberry dessert was amazing! I thought with it looking the way it did that it would be weird, but it was delicious! It was light and creamy and not overly sweet. I cannot wait to go back!

@allsaintsatx We had almost the same experience last year. The managers were amazing with their gratitude.

The Dragon Roll appetizer was our favorite. Don't get the dumpling basket! It's skimpy.

The duck, lo mein, and chicken tikka masala with fresh naan bread were the winning entrees.
