Satisfaction with Dollar?

Anyone have any thoughts on how they liked Dollar? I sure couldn't beat the current OCVB code for a minivan in beginning of June. National and Alamo are nearly twice as much! That seems quite odd to me so I'm wondering if there is a customer service or other problem with Dollar. I did see that there is an additional driver charge. So what happens if you don't pay the additional driver charge and there is an emergency and you have to drive the vehicle? What exactly do they do?

Also, any information about your check-out and return experiences with Dollar would be helpful too.

I use Dollar all the time. I've very happy with them. Just be sure to sign up for Dollar Express. We get a lot of these threads here, and most people are satisfied.

If you don't pay for additional driver but use one anyway, the risk is that you get in an accident. Your insurance *may* be void. There is no way I would take the risk if I knew somebody else would be driving the car. But if there was an emergency or something, I wouldn't have a problem taking the small risk.

if past trends hold true...

Alamo's price will drop like a rock 2 months or so ahead of ressie time.

National will drop a month out (but it's still been more expensive than Alamo imo).

A year ago i was moaning about paying more than $120 for 8 days in an SUV...i'd kill for that rate now.

For the 1st time, think we're going w/towncar service ($82 MCO/WDW/MCO and $112 to add 3rd let mid trip @ Universal/RPH)...looking better all the time.

We have used Dollar at their DTD location for the past few trips with no problem.
Also the MCO location before ME again with no issues at all.

We have another one booked with the KISS2 code thats the same as your for most dates and cars.

If someone else is driving the car pay. If it's an emergency the that the last thing that should be on your mind.

DE make for an easy Check-in ( well the other in line don't like you walking right past them ) and I have never had an issue with Dropoff either.

The DTD location? Would that be the Grosenvor Resort? Thats where we are picking our rental up from. Did you use thier comp shuttle service by chance? We were considering it, or thought about callin the front desk for taxi/disney transportation.

I just walked as we were at DTD/SSR anyhow. I will be using it again in June from the BCV and will just jump a bus to DTD. It's right across the street from the Marketplace bus stops .Very easy to get to.

Yah, I just looked at the resort website and I didn't notice how close it was to DTD. Thanks for your help.
