left home in the dark at 6:00 am..got to see the sunrise...mall doors were all locked..security let us in..7:00 am in line..still second..but I found out where #1 snuck in..lol..(this same person called their wife..and wife arrived at 8:30...said she wasn't getting pins and hubby was only getting one set..these same 2 people each got 2 full sets!..had a LOT of peeved people in line..especially the ones at the back of the line..if you want pins..get in line with everyone else at the same time we do..don't think he will get away with that next week....everyone was there by 9 this morning..no shortages on pins at all..they even had the Mickey USA star pins..with no limit..by the time we all got to the register ..they were gone though..hope everyone got all their pins..CM's at store said they hadn't heard anything about any shortages, but you never know!

I think Matthew made it through this week without any situations..lol I haven't had much time to talk to him yet. He kept calling me at work and we were soooo slammed with customers (Hallmark Open House  ) that I had to keep telling him "I can't talk" and I'd hang up the phone...LOL At least I'm pretty sure he isn't in jail for beating up that woman that gave him attitude last week!

I was in line by 9a this morning, and was 7th in line. By the time I got to the counter, they were out of Shaggy D.A. and Remember the Titans. Plenty of the Mickey w/Star pins, though. We had some new faces in our group today, one an out of town visitor trying to get his pins. :)

DH and I arrived at 8:00 am and were #3 & #4 in line.
I knew there were no Piglets. And this store was also short shipped Titan and & Shaggy D.A.
Afterwards I ran over to the other TDS. They had Piglet. So I bought a couple.
Both stores had the Mickey flag (similar to Mickey for Prz) and the MM flag lenticular.
Next weekend is the last weekend this year the store is open at 10:00. I hate to think how early I will have to be there afterwards!
Everyone is saying the same: If Disney comes out with another series, they aren't going through this again.

So far we still play nice at my local store! We arrived about 8:30 & were #5 & #6 in line. I think the line count ended up being about 22 or 23 by the time the store opened. There were some Mickey with star pins on the pin rack - they flew away quickly. However, the SM kept the rest of that style pin behind the cash register & guest bought several. I found the lenticular key chains & was passing them out in line for other guests to buy :). Another guest was at WDW last week & brought back several pins to sell (at cost) - two Mickey Americana pins & some soap opera pins. I bought two Americana pins from her!!

I had an uneventful visit to my store as well. Got there around 7:50 and was #6 in line. The folks in front of me only got one set each, so I had no problem getting what I needed.Actually went back later to pick up two Shaggy's and two Titans for Cynthia. They had alot of boxes behind the counter...maybe all the extras wee at my store this week..LOL

I was 5th in line, got there same time as usual. They only had 3 Lion King pins so needless to say I'm looking for one. Got an extra Doc,Magical World of Disney & Birthday Party & Patriotic Star Mickey.
Trade made,thanks everyone!

Leslie! What about Peggie's pins? You forgot to give us our weekly update! She's at Disney, isn't she?

I can report that Leslie did get Peggie's pins. LOL. Can't believe she forgot to mention it. Her store ran out of the Mickey Stars so I picked up one of those for Peggie. Our store ran short on 3 pins this morning: Shaggy DA, Titans, and Mickey's Birthday Party. Luckily, Leslie was able to help back fill me on those. (I got the BDP pin at another store.)

People are posting that they are sorry they started and wouldn't do this again but I am having a blast! We keep getting to the store earlier and earlier, but I think it's as much to talk to each other as to get the pins. Can't wait for next Saturday!

Cynthia,

You missed my official "Peggie I got your pins post!"

Leslie, after I wrote to you on this thread, I saw your thread "Peggie I got your pins post!" Thanks for letting the rest of us know - it's a Saturday "thing." It is like waiting outside the Disney Store - don't we all feel like we have gotten to know something about the guests we've been waiting with every week?! :)

I got to my store at my usual time, 11:30, and they were out of Lion King and Magical World of Disney. They had the 2 pins I needed so I was happy and I picked up a couple of extras for trading. The best part was running in to Cynthia! We then went and had lunch together. I for 1 am looking forward to the Saturday after Thanksgiving as I don't have to work that day and can go, trade and meet some new pin pals!!!

Things went very well at the Disney Store here. Lauri's mom and I arrived just after 9 AM and I saw something I'd never seen before --- 2 people already in line!!!!  I'd never encountered this over the past few weeks, so it seemed very strange.

Lauri's mom and I got in line behind them and enjoyed our breakfast. I do think I freaked them out a bit when I went to get one of the benches in the mall and brought it over for DMIL and I to sit on (I figured she'd be more comfortable there than on the floor).

By the time the store opened, there were about 10 people in line. A friend of Lauri's, a police officer who patrols her mall, joined us in line to pick up pins for his wife. He's been there with his wife the previous two weeks and Lauri and I even ran into him and his wife at the August event (which he charmingly referred to as "that big pinhead convention"). At one point I called Lauri to give her a quick update and the policeman friend said "don't worry, no one will cut in line, I've got a gun." :D Don't worry; I think he's slowly being sucked into pin trading.

I think the DS did a great job this weekend. One of the two managers opening the store came out maybe 20 minutes before opening to find out how many pins each person wanted. They only received 6 of the Titans pin and 12 of the Mickey Birthday pin, and the cutoff point for the Titans pin was Lauri's mom, who was ahead of me in line. When they opened the gate, one of the managers had sets of pins strapped together with a price tag strap and handed them to the guests as we entered the store. No mad rush for the pin rack or the counter, no line cutting, and people had a chance to browse the store at their leisure.

I did check with the other two Disney Stores here .... they were also sold out of the Titans pin and Shaggy DA, and Mickey's Birthday was in short supply and is probably gone by now.
