Would LOVE any and all help. I'll be in Salt Lake City this Sat and have no plans from 6:30 until about 10:30 ... would love to find a good bar, restaurant ... something fun, I'm in my 20s, will be by myself but can hold my own ... HELP!

Ugh ... NO ONE lives in this city ... I was afraid of this! yikes!

I live in Salt Lake....what kind of stuff are you thinking of doing? You can pm me if you want any info.

Heidi

I'll be staying at "West 200 South" ... I think that's downtown ... but I'm adventurous, I will go astray! :)

dana I just replied to your pm...let me know if you want any more info ok?

Heidi

Heidi, your PM is FANTASTIC ... thanks much! Would love anything else you think of too ... feel free to PM!

dana....I'm sure Heidi is much more helpful than I will be since she lives there. It's been 10 years since I was out there and I was a poor college student but we enjoyed jumping on the bus and heading to SLC.

I remember Hansen Planetarium being a fun place. We would catch the laser shows they have...I believe they are still showing the Pink Floyd one. Really cool shows!

There are alot of historical places there...lots of parks etc to visit. I would recommend walking through Temple Square if that interests you at all. The grounds are quite beautiful, especially at night.

Have a good trip!

I know that there are quite a few other folks from SLC on the boards...Liz for one...maybe she'll see this and give you some ideas!

Just remember that SLC is NO NYC that's for sure! LOL The drinking here is expensive and some of the places like Port O Call require a membership in order to be able to serve alcohol but the memberships are like $5.00 for a temp membership if I remember right. We don't drink outside our house because it's too expensive and we drive to Wyoming or Nevada to stock up! LOL

I'm trying to think of other things to do as well and will PM you with more info if I think of it.

Heidi

This info is fantastic, I love these boards.

Heidi, I actually am looking forward to a break from NYC, home of the seven dollar beer! :)

This job has been just wild with the travel.

Would love any and all other SLC recommendations from natives and fans alike. Thanks as always.

I've been flying into SLC for years and can't name one bar or restaurant. I'm sorry. :p

But the scenery...! I think driving through the mountains qualifies as exciting, sometimes too much so, for us Eastern folk. Good luck Dana. :D
