Oooooohhh!!!! Can I be the first to RSVP for the 100 Day Party!!!!!! I'll be there---boogeying the night away to DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!

Consider yourself RSVP'd! It honestly felt like double digits would never get here. Finally seeing that '1' missing from our countdown is really going to help time fly by!

In October, I always do a huge Edgar Allan Poe unit -- I bet Kyle would enjoy reading some of his stuff if he hasn't already.

We always pay for our trips in cash -- I guess that's why we plan them a year in advance...

Kyle would LOVE it! I have a collection of Poe so we'll definitely add that to the 'to do' list for October- this kid is a voracious reader. He gobbles down Harry Potter in a day or less!

Your trip is going to be here before you know it! I am so excited for you. Have you settled on a resort yet? I can't remember.

Yeah, we're sticking with ASMusic Family Suites. I just can't give up the space or the mini kitchenette until we've actually experienced how much of it we'll utilize during the trip... we may end up using it all very little, but this being our first trip- I just can't risk it!

Hey---I always did an Edgar Allan Poe unit in October with my Sophomores too!!! I LOVE his stuff!!!

Lara---I would HIGHLY recommend ANY and ALL Poe for Kyle---he would LOVE it!!!!

I'm definitely going to work it in - we'll have to pay a visit to the library as well, because this boy has read nearly every book we own!

I must've had a really sweet past life because THIS one is chaotic and exhausting!

My Dad's been out of the hospital for one day since having to start dialysis emergently. This morning he woke up with blood in his urine and we had to rush him to the ER at the VA hospital. Turns out it's not abnormal for this to occur after all they've done to his kidney's in the last week. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW THAT BEFORE TODAY!

When Kyle wakes up his face looks like this:

Whisk Kyle off to the pediatrician. Get oral steroids. Kyle says he feels like a cyclops. He'd find a way to enjoy anything, that kid!

Yeah, so have I mentioned lately HOW MUCH I COULD REALLY USE A VACATION?!

DH's bonus check is all set to come in on Monday. We're depositing that puppy immediately and I'm calling my TA first thing in the am to pay for the room and dining. I'm keeping out about $1000 in case Southwest decides they love me, they really love me and they want to give me an unbelievable ding fare... That just leaves upgrading our dining to deluxe in December when we'll also buy the tickets for the parks... But paying off the room and dining will make it REAL to me, and at least I'll know there's a light at the end of my chaotic tunnel!

Here's a question for those who've flown Southwest - if you buy a ticket, and then they offer a less expensive ticket later, I've heard you can go for the cheaper option somehow... how does that work? Do you pay a second time and they refund the difference to you or do they refund you the difference, or how does that work?!

Anastasia thought I needed some cheer brought into my life, so she (and I quote) "decorated the TV for me"...

All you moms out there froze in your seats when you heard those words, didn't you!

I grabbed my cell phone while the moment was still fresh, because I just HAD to post this for you all... a little glimpse into our never a dull moment life!

Here was her decoration... crayon!

And here she is, lamenting her decision when I made her help clean it up.

She looks just like Dora...

I sent those to my DH who could NOT stop laughing.

My DD had a severe case of food poisoning over the weekend, now a sinus infection.
My grandfather was near death and in the hospital all July and most of August.
And my MIL lost her house in Galveston, Thanks Ike. What'ca gonna do?

Interesting tidbit:

We almost cancelled our trip yesterday. DH wanted to reschedule to later in 2009 because he was trying to be fiscally responsible, which torqued me to no end as we've been planning THIS trip for 6 months, and rescheduling means I will have been putting off this trip for a year and a half or more! I threw out phrases like "investment in our family" and "making memories"... I believe I even went so far as to drop the "I'll NEVER FORGIVE YOU" bomb...

He relented, we're still going in January. BUT I did make some ADR changes, including Cinderella's Table! Now get THIS... We have under four months to go, and I called just to inquire about changing our lunch ressie there because it was scheduled for our first full day and I was afraid everyone would be too antsy to sit still for that killer opportunity... so I ask the reservationist about it, and I hem and haw saying I know this is crazy, but, are there any lunch openings for a party of six on these dates? And her response? Um, YEAH! TONS OF THEM. I literally had my pick of breakfast and lunch times on several different days... WHAT THE HECK?!

You may have had a lot of choices because it is January and a slow time of year. Also, I think the economy is finally affecting people's vacation plans -- I think that is why we are seeing so many discounts right now for Disney. I just hope that it means I won't have a problem making my ADRs for June.
