We are booked to see the spirit of aloha.

On this evening DH and other designated driver will probably want to have a few drinks.

Is it easy to catch a bus from saratoga springs to the polnesian and then back?

Might be easiest to get a bus to MK and then get the monorail to the Polynesian.

You can either get bus mk then monorail to poly or u could go to downtown Disney And just get bus to poly.

I would personally go to MK and then to the Poly. Same for the return. Downtown Disney may be close enough to walk to, but the buses to and from Downtown Disney are FAR MORE eratic than the ones to the parks, which for the most part are quite regular.

the buses to/from DTD to the poly will (depending on MKs opening hours) probably be running later than MK buses. we did this a lot last year, we stayed at saratoga and walked to DTD often, and often got buses to/from the other resorts for dinner. it was surprisingly easy.

That may be a better option on the way back. I still think going to MK and MK to Poly to get there may be quicker all in all. Either way, you will be able to get there and back. Fortunately SSR gives you an exta option.

In fact, to get to the Poly from DTD (sorry, throwing you another option), you could take the first bus to any of the monorail resorts as they are all on the monorail loop so you could just connect to the Poly from whichever resort you are dropped at. All the Monorail resort buses stop in the same area so if you are waiting in one spot and see another bus pull up for one of the other resorts, run for it. Just be mindful of those waiting ahead of you in the line for that bus, especially if all 8 of you are going. ;)

And just to throw another option in to the mix, you can get a bus to Epcot and take the Monorail to TTC - it's a 5 minute walk to the Polynesian from there (and very pretty resort to walk through too).

would it be inappropriate to suggest a taxi?

Only reason I didn't is because I assumed all 8 of them are going. I thought it could be a bit costly. It would be the easiest option on the way back though, if the evening has been greatly successful ;)

Hello I would suggest going to Down town disney as well we did this a lot last year I don't know if you have used this before (or have a I phone I pod touch and can benefit from the app) http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx but I have downloaded it to hopefully help us this year having the free dining we plan to visit a lot of resorts

Stretch Limo would be nice, but possibly not in the budget. ;) I suspected you may need 2 cabs, unless you can get a really big one. Of course, it won't hurt to ask your resort concierge to ring up and get a quote to order you one, but that will tie you to a time which you may not want. Other option is to get the quote and then ask the Poly concierge to ring for you when you are ready to leave. I would just use the Disney transport system, at the very least, on the way there. You can assess whether the evening calls for a splurge at the time. It sounds like such a great evening. :)

Was just wondering what time it finishes, as alot of people like watching the fireworks on the beach at the poly - maybe could do that after the show?:confused3 Still got to get back though :lmao:

You won't have a problem getting back. Buses and monorails run for several hours after park closing and into the small hours of the morning with DTD. Even if you stayed to watch fireworks, you would have plenty time to sit around for a good couple of hours and then casually make your way to where you are going. All you need to make a note of is the closing time of the park where you want to connect to get your resort bus back to SSR .... and add a couple of hours onto that time. ;)
