Saratoga Springs

Family new to the DVC. Can anyone tell me how's the stay in Saratoga. Good location to enjoy the view? We just recently booked our vacation for May, 2006. Membership services advises they do not have the cash nights available. We wanted to use these cash nights for the weekend to save points? They told us to keep calling back so they could link our stay through the week. Does this sound right? Are there any tips out there about saving points / short cuts we should know about?

We stayed in Congress Park location and had a room that faced Fulton's in DTD...it was beautiful. Walking distance to DTD, but the furthest from the pool and the main buildings.

While MS is not ale to allow a cash reservation at this time, I'd be very surprised if cash nights don't become available within the next few months- possibly even with the 25% Member discount. Keep calling back and do have MS link the dates together.

MS first priority is to reserve DVC villas using points. When they are convinced that rooms will not be needed for point reservations, they release them for member cash stays. Rooms unreserved 60 days ahead are released to CRO for public cash reservations. Public availability can also occur when DVC members use points for non-DVC options (Disney cruise, other WDW resorts, etc.) Cash nights reserved thru MS will usually come from member inventory (and will usually have the discount).
