we've stayed at OKW multiple times and loved it..
but for 2017, we'll be taking the entire clan and thought it might be nice to have a real quick service option (that OKW doesn't really have)..

so i was wondering what people think of saratoga springs vs OKW - for those of you who have stayed at both, or even if you've only stayed at SSR - what you thought of it..

any information, tips, comments, etc etc are welcome!!

oh and while you're at it, if you've also stayed at bonnet creek - comparison of that would also be welcome!!

thanks!!!

We've stayed at SSR twice and OKW once. We prefer SSR because of it's proximity to Disney Springs (a pleasant, easy walk), the buses to the park (rarely had to wait for more than a couple of minutes and often had the bus to ourselves), the quick service court and the Turf Club Bar and Grill (have had a couple of really good meals there). We were worried before the first time we stayed that SSR was going to be awfully spread out and that we could be really isolated, however there are lots of walkways that join the various areas and we didn't have a problem. The rooms are bigger at OKW and that could be a consideration if there are more than two of you.

thanks!! that's very reassuring. I know that OKW has HUGE rooms compared to everywhere else and a totally amazing laundry room in the villa, but the food court seems to me to be an important option, especially given that we'll be on free dining.

it will be 4 adults in one two bedroom
and 2 adults/ 2 children in the other two bedroom.
so even with less space than in the OKW villa i think we should be ok.

i doubt we'll eat outside at all, so not having a table out on the balcony isn't exactly a deal breaker...it's way too hot in august to eat outside anyway..

I loved the QS food at SSR, although there's not a huge amount of tables. Most of the time we were fine because we were there at odd times, but once I ended up taking my breakfast back to the room to eat it.

But I seriously loved SSR (and we're not big Disney Springs goers, so that wasn't the selling point) but it's beautiful, and if it hadn't been a significant saving to go with CSR, we'd be back at SSR this year.

I love OKW way more than Saratoga. I love the pool area and the recreation area with tennis, etc. the one or two bedroom villas are huge. We like Olivia's for lunch or dinner. And we like the boat to Disney springs. But we never get dining plan and rarely go to parks, so the pool area is important to us.

We have stayed at both and they are both great resorts.

SSR rooms are newer, OKW rooms are bigger we personally prefer SSr rooms but we book a 2 bedroom for 4 so space isn't an issue for us.

What we really loved about SSR is we could work to Disney springs for dinner have a bottle of wine and walk back. Can't beat that.

we'll also be in a 2 bedroom.... two 2 bedrooms....one for DH and me together with our daughter and son in law..
and in the other 2 bedroom will be my son, daughter in law and their two kids...
so plenty of space regardless of whether it's the OKW or SSR....although i do love that laundry room in the OKW rooms....much nicer than what i have at home (stacked :) )
