First post, besides the one I tried to send that did not go. Anywho, stayed for Thanksgiving last year at PORiverside, relaxing visit. Want to come again this year with out six year old son but just really having a terrible time deciding where. Enjoyed being able to boat to DD last year so we were thinking about staying at SS. Any thoughts, opinions or whatever? Thanks

It's a wonderful resort. We are DVC members and have stayed there twice, once in a one bedroom and once in a studio. Both times we had DTD views. There are three sections open now with Congress Park closest to DTD, but The Springs closest to the Carriage House and main pool. The resort is still under construction, but that will not impact your vacation.

Go over to the DVC board and look over some of those threads.

We stayed at SS in Jan 05 and had a great time. We were in a two bd. We stayed at OKW also and those rooms are much larger. The two bd there was huge compared to SS. For the same money I enjoyed OKW, but SS was very nice also.

Hi! Welcome to the DIS!!
We were just there in June in a studio. The resort is beautiful. The room was perfect, and the view of DtD was great!! I love the zero entry pool, small kids slide and larger slide for older"kids" like DH!!LOL Also the water play area where the water squirts out from the floor was a big hit with my kids, 2 and 7 years old. We rented a surrey bike and the kids loved the community hall there where they have loads of activities for the kids like crafts and such. We didn't go to the parks so I can't help you on the bus service there. When we went to DtD we took the walking path and it was quick and easy. It leads you right to the Marketplace. Keep in mind there is no sit down restaurant there and the food court has a very limite menu, but the food is fresh and good. All the CM's we dealt with were super friendly and check in was a breeze and I got all my requests granted. Here a few links to help you get a feel for the place:

Ya know you mods are so on top of things!! I knew I wasn't going crazy! I could have sworn I was posting a reply to this on the resorts board and I was providing links for the DVC board and suggesting the OP should post this question there. Then when I submitted it it was on the DVC board. I was thinking I took too much cold medicine!!LOL I went back to my post and just edited out the link to the DVC board. Went back to the resorts board and saw it had been moved.
