Please anyone advice me on this resort, will i love it?..I have a preferred room booked (i am not DVC)..We are family of 3 ,never stayed here before, slightly worried we may be disappointed with choice and wondering should we pay more to upgrade some where else or try this resort out?

We stayed her quite a few years ago. When they were building it and you could see it from Dowwtown Disney I thougt it looked bland and uninteresting. After it was finished I walked over to visit and it was much better than I expected. I don’t think photos convey this one real well. When we finally stayed there I really liked it. The grounds and buildings felt like you were somewhere out of the area on an estate and not anything like home here in California. We had a quiet room overlooking a fairway and the swimming area in the Grandstand was super ild fashioned feeling. That being said we have not returned becaue we have other favorites we like and have been trying new stuff, and it isn’t on the top of the list to return to.

We stayed at SSR last summer for the first time. We generally prefer the Epcot resorts because we love the walk into 2 parks. We were very happy with our stay at SSR. We had a 2 br and it worked great for us (me, DH, DS, DD and her BF.) As we were all adults it worked great. We ate at the QS 2 times. Food was good. Cooked a bit in the room. Walked over to DS or took the bus a few times. It was very quiet, which we enjoyed. DH & DS golfed one morning and enjoyed the course. We didn't have any problems with the bus to the parks. Kids have asked to stay there again if we all go together in the future.

I did a ton of research, read the boards, looked at pictures so that we had an idea of what the resort looked like, how far it was from the parks, where a grocery store could be found, etc. As a result, we weren't disappointed in our stay. If you are used to staying at a monorail resort or an Epcot resort, you may be disappointed. For us, it ended up being a nonissue as we did like it. If you need to have a lot of theme at the resort, it could be a disappointment. It will really depend on your expectations.

I completely agree with a PP that it will depend on your expectations. It doesn't scream Disney the way that Pop or some of the other values do with their huge character cutouts or have quite the same immersive feel as something like the Poly or AKL I'm sure (going off if pics, never been to those 2), but it is a beautiful resort. It reminded me a bit of POR personally, not that there's a Cajun feel to it, but because of how peaceful and serene it seemed.

Because it's a large, spread out resort, SSR didn't seem as crowded and noisy as some of the other more compact resorts. We loved having multiple pools to check out, 2 different big water slides (plus there's a smaller water slide at the Springs pool and a kiddie water structure with slides at the Paddock pool), 2 different quick serve areas, multiple drink refill stations, plus a short walk, boat, or bus ride to Disney Springs.

If you're used to the in your face Disney feel of some of the other resorts, this might be disappointing, but if you like beautiful landscaping and a peaceful resort with a splash of Disney touches, then I think you'll enjoy it here.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite at SSR many years ago. The room was very nice and we loved all extra space in the bathroom areas. I also had a few spa treatments at the spa which I loved. While we did enjoy our stay and I don't have any thing negative to say about SSR we wouldn't choose to return. There are many other deluxe resorts that we much prefer due to both location (ability to walk to parks or on the monorail line) and theming. Now with that said you can very often get some really great discounts for SSR compared to the other deluxe resorts. If your are trying to maximize your dollars but still want to stay at a deluxe than I think it is worth it. I agree with the PP who said to do some online research and take a look at the pictures. If you are prepared for what it looks like, it's location, etc. I don't think you will be disappointed. We weren't disappointed when we stayed at SSR, we just have other favorites.

Preferred view at SSR is either Congress Park (non-themed pool and right across the lake from Disney Springs) and the Springs (right next to the main themed pool, Carriage House where you check in and Artist's Palette-counter service food area). The Springs is a short walk from the Paddock pool area which is pretty nice and has a quick service food counter. Congress Park is the third bus stop, the Springs is the fourth bus stop. Perks at SSR is the short walk to Disney Springs (or you can also take a boat over to Disney Springs), the Spa which is very nice and the multiple themed pool areas - Springs (High Rock Springs pool), the Paddock and Grandstand (both of these have nice water play areas for kids, too).

SSR is a DVC resort, so it is considered deluxe and none of the deluxe resort scream Disney, just subtle theming. This one is themed to horse racing such as found at Saratoga Springs, NY. One bedroom and larger have laundry inside the villa (stackable washer and dryer), plus a full kitchen. Studio has access to free washer and dryer in the laundry rooms and a kitchenette (microwave oven, coffee pot, undercounter refrigerator, toaster). There is a nice Community Hall near the Spring pool that has activities for families to participate (some for kids, some entire family, but not a drop off child care location).

Check out the DVC Boards for more information on SSR. It really is a lovely resort. Nice landscaping, too.

Even though we own at BLT my DH and I prefer to stay at SSR or AKL because of the ease of parking and ease of driving off property.

We really enjoy the animals at AKL, but we love the easy access to DS. We almost always stay at Congress Park so it is only a few steps to be at DS.

DS has so many food and entertainment options.

I think the best description of SSR is that it is a lovely golf resort that has transportation to the Disney parks and is next door to all that DS has to offer.

Have you watched the Dis Uplugged teams review and blog videos of their tour and stay there? It gives a good sense of the resort.

We stayed there once and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We like to spend resort time, a nice pool, pool bar, activities, a Community Hall (now the kids are too old for a lot of the activities), choices of multiple nice pools. It's a lovely resort.

What do you expect in a resort stay? If you know that SSR doesn't check some boxes for you, then maybe you should move. Otherwise, there are a ton of positive reasons to stay there, so give it a shot and go in with an open mind. Have a great trip either way!

We recently did a 3 night stay at SSR in a 2BR. The room was nice and large. The resort was very pretty, but too large for us. We were in the Paddock building, but closest to the Congress Park bus stop. The location was ok. Not a bad walk to the restaurants, but we like a smaller resort feel.

I wouldn't want to stay there for the week, but for our short trip it was fine.

I will say we were unhappy with the bus service, but we generally don't like the buses anywhere at WDW. When they are on time, they are great. When you wait 45 minutes or so for a bus to MK (which we did at SSR), you begin to hate them. Three AK, two EP and two HS buses came while we were waiting. We rode the bus maybe twice and then used the Minnie Van service for the remainder of the trip.
