I wasnt going to go there  but I completely agree! :wizard:

The new pool bar will serve food also.

of course I guess I should have let Jim complain about Artitst Pointe and that way my beloved Palette would be left alone. :rotfl2:

Hopefully the new pool bar will stop the complaints about Palette. :thumbsup2

You actually like the lunch there? I love the breakfast and dinner, but for some reason, the sandwiches are **YUCK**

Jim Fitz... You can order the sandwiches w/ out the fuu fuu stuff ( blue cheese or brei etc.). My kids pick their own pizza ingredients as well. My son orders the breakfast pizza w/out the eggs ( he hates them). We have always had good luck changing things because they make it for you fresh while you wait. Just thought I'd let you know for next time!

By the way,the new pool sounds great!

Jeremy&Susan, I'm liking the idea of mini fridges beside you at the pool. JIMFITZ could make his own lunches or we could all walk over to the Earl of Sandwich!! I haven't been home yet (97 day happy dance) but when I'm not cooking it everything tastes JUST FINE!!

I'm liking the sound of all this. Even though we don't spend a lot of time at the pool, they sound like fun.

And here is another vote for the lunch's at Artist Palette! Loved the turkey/brie sandwich with the homemade chips. Yum!

And we also love the food at Artist Pointe ! Double Yum!

Thanks for sharing the info.

Hope we get lucky to stay in the Grandstand with a golf course view. My DH would love to live on a golf course. That may be as close as we get ! :rotfl:

I can barely wait until someone puts up the first picture of this stuff! :teeth:

Yep, really like the turkey ceasar sandwich and the flatbreads and I could eat their ceasar salad every day. :thumbsup2

Also really like their fresh soups, the fruit and cheese plate, the tuna salad sandwich and the ham and cheddar.

One of my favorite places to eat is Panerra Bread and their menu reminds me of it. Fresh, wholesome food. :sunny:

The best counter service salad I've ever had was at Artist Palette. Fresh, crisp, and tasty! I'm curious what people would like to see on the menu there, but I'd sure hate it if they changed it to burgers and nuggets.

It sounds great! We're thrilled about a new themed pool, and water play area too! That area is going to be fantastic.

We just got back from SSR this week and we had such a good time. I could not believe the view from our balcony. My son caught 2 huge bass fish on the lake. He had so much fun fishing with the other boys his age there. I did not want to leave the resort. We are going back again for Halloween and already have my daughter's reservation at the Bibbity Bobbety Boutique. I can't wait.

Does anyone know how many points it would take to move in there????? ;)

I have the impression that the 118 sq foot pool is probably a hot tub of sorts?

Yippee!! I love the news of the new pools!! We stayed at BWV in July and pool-hopped to SSR on our last day and fell in love with our "home"! So much that we are booked for next weekend for 4 days!

BTW, I LOVE the lunch as well, and it reminds DH and I of Panera too!! (which is one of my favs!!) I like that it's different than the usual.

What section were you in, what was your view. Which lake area were the boys fishing in. Might have to start packing a pole with me, :thumbsup2

Completely agree about the Chicken Caesar Salad Mello and Sammie!!

When we were there in June, I didnt see it in the refrigerated case and started getting nervous that it was off the menu!
I asked the CM and she said "No Ma'am, we still have it, we just make it completely fresh now, when you order. They were getting wilty in the case"
I was sooo relieved and very impressed.

I was also impressed that when I had an allergy question about one of the Flatbread Specials of the Day, The Chef came out to discuss it with me. He was very concerned and handled me with care.

AP is not your average food court, the food is freshly prepared, and I like the personalized service. The breakfast pizza was really good, and Dh and the boys like the chili.

Last trip, we barely left the resort, and dined at AP often as the Turf Club was not open yet. I look forward to visiting now with all the enhancements. I think we will really struggle with our requests now! Congress Park or the Grandstand? Even the Paddock, Springs and Carousel will not be bad spots. As we slow down and relax more, we enjoy the views from our Villa the most. SSR offers many view opportunities for us, and now with the added food options and pools, we are really looking forward to our next stay. Come on waitlist!! :wizard:

That's a safe bet. At 11 x 11 it would be a nice size HT. :beach:

We were in the Springs (Room 4210) and he was fishing off the bridge right behind our building. When we checked in I asked at the front desk if we could have a room close to the pool since my 84 year-old MIL was with us and had trouble getting around. It is the building closest to the pool and is absolutely wonderful. The bass had to be 7-8 pounds (the first one he caught.....I got reports of a second, larger fish being caught, but you know what they say about fishermen....). I would strongly suggest bringing a fishing pole with you. He used bread for bait. We actually bought the fishing pole at Wal-Mart close by. Just a suggestion if anyone is interested.

I'm going to make 11 month reservations for 07 next week - I'm a big fan of Congress Park but now I want to try the new section! It sounds amazing.

We also  the food at Artist's Palate :artist: . I had chicken and artichoke flatbread and dh had the day's specialty sandwich - it was a southwestern chipotle chicken type-thing with the homemade Saratoga Chips. Delicious. It was wonderful not to have to order a hamburger/hot dog/ pizza, or the ever popular Disney ribs and chicken combo that they seem to have at every single CS restaurant. Turf Club was excellent as well. Much, much nicer interior and higher quality food than I expected.

I'm coordinating a group of 6 adults, 3 rooms, for 10/7-12 for F&W. This will be DH & I's first trip to SSR. A couple of questions, if I may, since you all seem so knowledgeable about SSR on this thread. :thumbsup2

Do they have refillable mugs at Artist Pallette? A member of my party asked and I don't use these at any resort.

Also, they are requesting to be by a pool, so I see I probably want to request either Congress Park or Paddock section, since we won't have kids, to be by the quiet pools. Are there hot tubs by both pools? Which are closest to a bus stop?

Thank you all so much for your help.
Kathy

Yes, they do sell refillable mugs at AP.

Sorry, I can't remember if there are hot tubs near the quiet pools, though. I think each one has one, but I'm not sure.

There are also hot tubs inside the spa itself, but you would have to separate the group by gender--these tubs are located in the men/women's locker room areas. (If you are a DVC member, you can use the spa facilities w/out charge during the time you are staying at a WDW hotel.)

On our last visit, we really spent most of the time at the main pool, and there are 2 hot tubs there, along w/a refill station for your mugs that is just next to the pool bar.

The pool's refill station is only open when the pool bar is open, but there is also a refill station inside AP which is open during the hours for the convenient store/AP.

There is probably a map of SSR and the bus stops online--or perhaps another DIS member has one handy.

Hope that helps, and enjoy your trip!!

Springs does not have a small pool as it is right across the street from the main pool. Both Paddocks and Congress Park have nonthemed pools with Congress Park having the best one. Yes there are hot tubs there.

Mugs at Artist's Pallette and bus stops centrally located at all locations.
