Saratoga Springs New Section

I agree that it looks like a hike, but it looks like, on the afore-linked map, that there is a little yellow walkway on the northern side of the road leading to the grandstand - am I imagining this? It looks just like all the other little yellow walkways except it seems to run right along the road. Maybe they could bring over some of the ubiquitous trams.......

Still, a longish walk on a walkway is better than a longish walk NOT on a walkway!

When we checked out Wednesday, they were digging/creating some sort of walkway in the grassy area to the left of the guard shack (when exiting, the walkway was on your left) going toward the new construction. Maybe it will be a permanent walkway to somehow connect Carousel to Grandstand?

Hope that somehow made sense. The 'it's been 4 days since I left SSR' depression has fogged my brain. ;)

You made perfect sense! Wonder where it might connect to? Maybe that golf course walkway?

Does Horsing Around offer weekly bike rentals? I might not mind staying in Carousel if I had a bike to hop on to get back and forth to Artist Pallet and the main pool. Of course, if they do offer weekly rentals, it's probably an arm and a leg.

I'm sure they'd never consider doing this at SSR, but I seem to recall a news story once about a city somewhere (I want to say in China, but it may have been a European country) where they provide "community" bicycles. If you see one parked on a bike rack somewhere you can just take it, putting it back in another bike rack when you're done.

I love the community bike concept, but doubt that Disney would ever go to the honor system on something that they are in the habit of charging money for. Also, I imagine they want to have someone to come after in the event of bikes wandering off.

I DO think it would be a nice perk of membership to have a hearty discount on a weekly bike rental at a spread out resort like SSR, or complimentary for guests staying in an especially out of the way spot. Free bike rental to rooms in carousel could well have us requesting that area!

That would be Boulder Colorado. Interestingly the bikes did not last the summer. They "disappeared" :rolleyes1

We were thinking a similar thing... have a limited number of golf carts or segways available for rental, only for those people staying in Carousel. If being able to get a segway was a perk of staying there, we might even consider it! Of course your idea is much more economical, and one they'd probably actually consider.

Another thought we had was a point reduction for that section - like the standard view BWV rooms. That should make it a bit more attractive.

How/who do we contact DVC to voice our thoughts/concerns about our home resort? Anybody know?

Here's the official Disney policy on submitting recommendations: "We are pleased to hear from our guests and welcome your questions. However, be advised that our company policy does not allow us to accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions, or materials other than those that we have specifically requested."

As a timeshare owner, though, I don't know if suggestions regarding the timeshare fall into a different category.

In general, the best place to put suggestions is on forums like these, and hope they are read by someone in power to do something about it.
