Saratoga or POR, me and my DW are looking at a holiday next august. My travel agent friend has done me some quotes an it works out that saratoga is £40 more expensive than POR after the upgrade on Dining Plan.

Has anyone stayed at either of these, should i go Deluxe for this small difference.

Thanks in Advance

Hi, both these hotels are very popular.

We stayed at saratoga this August and loved it.

With POR I think you get the quick service, and with Saratoga the normal ddp.

For me for £40 extra I would do saratoga, if the above is correct, as it is nice to get a TS meal every day.

Thanks eeyorefanuk

Yes the quotes we got for POR was tickets flights etc with DDP as we like the TS so we said we would pay the upgrade. I was just astonished how a deluxe with free DDP was only £40 extra

I know what you mean, with Saratoga Springs and Old Key West, Disney do offers of up to 42% off with free dining at certain dates.

As I say we loved Saratoga, as there was eight of us we had a two bed villa and it was great with the lounge area, kitchen, fridge, freezer, washer and dryer.

I assume your price at Saratoga is for a studio? The only thing I would say is people on here say the studios at Old Key West (just as nice as Saratoga) are a bit bigger - it would be the same price as well.

It is quite "spread" out, will you be having a car? Even if not, there are lots of bus stops. There is I think four parts to Saratoga, so you could always request which part you want, as in close to main building or near to downtown disney etc.

Some people say the choice of counter service at Saratoga is not so much as at others but we found it fine, and TBH had our counter services all over disney so did not make a difference to us.

I think the free dining plus the discount is brill, when we came home and added up just our TS meals (eight of us) it saved us an absolute fortune.

We loved SSR being so close to DTD and the villa felt very relaxing.

Not stayed at POR but have been to look around and it seemed nice.

We are going back to SSR next year because we loved it

Have you priced up yourself with Disney.co.uk or Completeorlando.co.uk might save you a few £, depends what discounts you have been offered.
We prefer OKW but SSR is very popular with this deal.

After just returning and staying at both I would do POR but that is because we had a few issues at SSR and I preferred the theming at POR and the rooms. I preferred OKW to SSR but many people on here love SSR and it is a personal choice.

We stayed at SSR this year and loved it, we didnt ask for a specific location but were in the grandstand which was first pick up/drop off on the buses and very close to the main building and restaurants. Go there !

I've stayed at both and I'd go for POR over SSR everytime. We love having the huge food court at POR, SSR's just doesn't cut it for us. We also prefer the bar at POR with Bob Jackson, and we prefer the theming of POR.

Thanks for the comments so far, at the min i am plumming for SSR amajor reason being that I enjoy the Gym so thats a big plus for me!!!!!

Saratoga and Old Key West are both nice, I have stayed at both and prefer Old Key West. They do have larger rooms and I prefer the main pool at Old key West over Saratoga. Also, you can take a boat ride over to Downtown Disney instead of walking over there from Saratoga.

For me it would be SSR. WE just got back 2 weeks ago and loved every minute of it. Loved the resort, the staff and the rooms were great. I couldn't fault it. We stayed at the springs.

Ditto, you must have been there at the same time as us. We stayed in room 4423 in the Springs. Probably the best building in the whole of the resort. It was right beside the main building and pool and only a 10 minute walk to DTD or 5 minutes to the boat.
