Taking a trip in May that we just planned and the only availability for studios (we need 3) was at OKW or Saratoga. We have never stayed at either resort. Any opinions out there on where we should stay? Right now we are booked at OKW but wondering if we should switch to Saratoga...what are the main differences b/w the these two resorts?? Thanks for any help! :flower3:

Two minor differences at OKW versus SSR. The points at OKW that you would use would be a little less at OKW and the rooms there also a slightly larger as well. I will be staying at OKW this upcoming trip and saving about 40 points for my stay of 10 nights.

Also the studios at OKW have two beds, where SSR will have one bed and one pull out sofa.

SSR is within walking distance of downtown disney, but the boat from OKW is just as nice as walking from SSR.

We have stayed at both and prefer OKW. We love the feeling of the resort, the size of the rooms, and lower points.

Like PP said....major difference is the bedding.
2 queens vs 1 queen and a Double sofa pullout.

I like both resorts. SSR might have a slight edge with me because I like to be able to walk to DTD to get any resort bus.....and it is newer.

But I liked the "feel" of OKW better.....just felt like a nicer "town" feel.

SSR fan here. But it depends what you're looking for. Yes, OKW requires fewer points. SRR is a newer resort and IMO the room conditions are great. We've stayed there 3 times in different buildings and have been happy in all of them.

The views are of the golf course, DTD, water fountains and my favorite, the canal-golf course-tree-house view.

We also love the convenience to DTD. And for us, the bus service to that resort is great. We don't share a bus with other resorts so our wait time has always been minimal. (And BTW, we always go in May)

Both resorts are beautiful. You can't go wrong staying at either one.

Enjoy your trip! :flower3:

The studio at SSR is similar to studios at most of the DVC resorts. Tub/shower and toilet in a small room with the sink just outside the room. At OKW, the tub/shower, toilet and sink are all in one larger room. So the bathroom and the two queen beds make a studio stay at OKW more palatable to this family.

At OKW the studios are usually on the outer ends of the buildings. And only three building at OKW have elevators. All the buildings at SSR have elevators.

I don't like the placement of the bathroom/kitchenette in OKW studio. Plus, if I was going with others, I would like to get together in a room with a sofa to sit on, not just beds. Given your choices, I would pick SSR. SSR has elevators, OKW doesn't except in 3 buildings.

DH and I are SSR owners and stayed in OKW studio in November. We decided that we prefer SSR over OKW. Our OKW room seemed a little dirty and the carpets were wet for some reason. We stayed on Miller's Road in building 22, all the way at the end of the road. It was also seemed far from the Hospitality House and a little bit inconvenient to us (especially if we had small children with us).

I did like that there were 2 queen beds in the room and the overall atmosphere of OKW, but think we'll try something different next time.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with either one.
