We will be at WDW for 3 weeks in Nov and planning on adding on some more points while we're there! Can anyone tell me whether they will have a 'show home' ready at Saratoga by then and whether the points will be on sale? When will we actually be able to start staying there? Thanks for your help!

At this point in time, DVC has not made any announcement about timing for the new Saratoga Springs Resort.

There will not likely be any model available to view until sales actually begin and sales won't likely begin at least until BCV is sold out.

The resort will reportedly open in Spring 2004, but no official date has been announced.

Stay Tuned!

My guess is they will have a model open by November, Jan, 04 at the lastest.

Hey Michelle!! I might be---Please check your private messages.:) :) :)

The Saratogian.com reports in thier article about the Disney Saratoga Springs:

"The opening of the first phase is scheduled for May 2004, in which all of the amenities -- check-in, pool, restaurants -- will be operational. Then Disney will open one building a month with the completion date scheduled for May 2005."

"Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will sit on 45 acres and contain 12 buildings with more than 550 units. It will feature four types of accommodations, similar to Disney's other Vacation Club properties."

"The studio accommodates a family of four and has a kitchenette. The one- and two-bedroom villas feature a full kitchen, living room and washer and dryer. The Grand Villas are 1,200 square feet and can accommodate up to 12 people."

"The resort sits on the Lake Buena Vista golf course and is secluded, despite being located next to Downtown Disney, a sort of theme park in itself, featuring numerous nightclubs and restaurants, such as the House of Blues, the Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood. Downtown Disney also includes a variety of places to shop, a Cirque du Soleil stage show and a 24-screen movie theater."

"The landscaping will be ''pretty dense,'' and the main entrance is not off the main road."

I think a lot depends on how much construction will still be going on as to whether models will be available for viewing or not.

While OKW (then simply called DVC) had tours in 1991 where prospective buyers had to wear hard hats, I don't think you're going to see that again.

So if they have a way to get people to the site without going through a lot of construction areas, then maybe.

It will also depend somewhat on what timeframe they can get from the state of Florida to do pre-sales as they probably won't bring anybody on site until the time they can actually start selling the resort.

Finally, it has been reported that all of the current DVC functions are moving to SSR. We're even assuming this means the functions currently located at Celebration, but I don't think anyone's actually comfirmed that yet. Nevertheless, this transfer of current functions may delay having anything available at the SSR site anytime soon.

On the other hand, I've also seen it reported by Disney that BCV is now 75% sold out. If that sells out fairly quickly, DVC may want to expedite having SSR available for review and sales.

Just some thoughts.
