Saratoga fail ROFR

I'm planning on adding on within the next two years if finances hold up... I'll be looking at basically doubling our 150 pt SSR contract...I hope the prices stay this low!!!

When I spoke to a gentleman at TTS, he advised that they do not list property if they feel it will not make ROFR, but there is still a chance. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose. Try not to wait too long though, things can change, and I would hate for you to lose out. Good Luck!

For example, we had a seller reduce their Saratoga Springs to $64 per point after it was on the market a few months at $67 per point and didn't sell. At the $64 per point price we weren't sure if it would make it through ROFR but this seller needed to find a buyer. The seller did find a buyer at the $64 per point price and it did make it through ROFR on 3/29/10.

Nope, not yet.
If we don't pass, we will just find another one. My dad has already been looking at other contracts just in case. I'll let everyone know.

karebear06 -- I noticed you are a BCV owner looking to add on at SSR. We currently own at BCV and I've been talking to my husband about an add-on at SSR, too! We just moved though, and need for our old house to sell. As soon as it does, though, I'm hoping to snag a "cheap" SSR contract. I'm already scoping out contracts...even if it is a little earlier for such a thing!

Looking forward to hearing how things go for you. Particularly since I'm hoping to be in the same situation soon!

I recommend to my customers to stay above $65 per point ( at Saratoga ) if they want to avoid Disney's ROFR. There are some cases, where Disney will let them go through for less. But to be safe, $65 and up will make it, under $65 is unknown.

In the case of the $52/point sale, the buyer was very patient and was willing to wait until his purchase passed. This was his second time to make an offer (the first contract was ROFR'd). For a savings of $2,600 for the purchase, his patience certainly paid off!!!

Ours is a $66/point SSR for 200 points and I wasn't optomistic, but I am now after reading this thread. Thanks Everyone! I think you will pass ROFR. The OP of this thread just passed at $62 a point and I also read where someone else just passed at SSR 200 points for $52 a point just two days ago. Best of luck to you!

I think Old Key West at $65 per point should make it through ROFR.

Was glad to see this thread, my DH and I have been looking at the resales and were not sure what would get through. A couple of months ago I talked to a guy at a resale place who said SSR wasn't getting through for less than $70. But recently that seems to have dropped a bit, maybe enough for us to want to make an offer. We are looking at a 100 point contract, so hopefully that doesn't go for more.

You should be OK, today we passed with $64 on 150 points plus 92 at SSR, our first resale. We have 2 contracts bought direct from DVC at AK.

I've only been waiting a week and it's already killing me! I really hope ours doesn't stretch out to the 30-day mark...

Which resort are you trying to get? We're waiting on AKV.
